She has got taller yet again and still not gained anything around her tummy/hips or bottom!!!! I need comfy trousers prefer pull on style lycra and essential and are exceptionally slim fitting - even some next stuff I have is huge around her waist/hips.

TIA

i would try somewhere like H&M

PestoMonster · 31/12/2007 16:16

Have you tried H & M? I find their trousers are very slim fitting in this age range (they fit my small & slim 8 year old). However, not sure if they do much stretchy stuff, as I usually get cords & jeans for dd2 there.

Maidamess · 31/12/2007 16:16

A lot of kids trousers have those stretchy adjustable bits inside the waistband so you can tighten them around skinny tummys.

Asda trusers do (well the boys ones at least) and Gap, too.

I had 3 skinnies with lanky legs so I know the problem!!

Great minds.... littleboo

Pollyanna · 31/12/2007 16:20

I get my very slim dd trousers from Boden.

CarGirl · 31/12/2007 16:20

our local H&M has very little stock - they don't sell girls pants (which was why I went there), they happened to have some in stock (they'd been sent to them accident) they are the short style ones, the age 3-4 ones fit her - I'm looking for the impossible aren't I!

She's not so good with jeans and cords because she's only 5 and not great with the whole button & zip thing. Of course gap jeans will not be cheap.

Thanks ladies, I will just have to brave the shops & the cost.

not quite pull-ons but as Pollyanna says Boden do slim and super slim jeans and cords

Mercy · 31/12/2007 17:11

I recently bought some trousers from Mothercare for my dd - they had an adjustable waistband and can be pulled up or down without having to undo the button or zip.

I didn't realise Boden did slim fit tbh - most of their stuff is huge on my dd

She is 6.8 and still wears age 4-5 skirts!

twinsetandpearls · 31/12/2007 17:11

My dd is tall and skinny and she has just grown out of her age five stuff, she is six, I can send you some bits in the post will not be until next week as I am in and out of hospital and life is a bit chaotic at the moment.

If they are no good just donate them to a charity shop.

twinsetandpearls · 31/12/2007 17:12

Just read that you dd is in aged 6-7 which my dd is still wearing now, but could pass on in a few months. I could pass on 5-6 which may not be tall enough, sorry.

CarGirl · 31/12/2007 17:13

honestly the H&M short knickers that she has in 5-6 are baggy on her despite being well washed, worn & tumble dried (they are cotton & lycra), hence why the 3-4 fit better

OP posts:
twinsetandpearls · 31/12/2007 17:14

Yes my dd struggles with knickers.

CarGirl · 31/12/2007 17:15

well the H&M knickers are fab (just go for a small size) I need an inside leg of 50cm - feel free to check!

twinsetandpearls · 31/12/2007 17:19

I might try H and M then.

CarGirl · 31/12/2007 17:20

jusst ring them and checkk they stock knickers I am gutted that our local one doesn't (made the trip just for those) so one day I will have to brave Kingston to get some more for her & me (it is all my fault I have skinny hips so the age 13 fits perfect)
