The Learning Box. Other similar, better learning material anywhere? What have you come accross?

DD is nearly 3 and loves books and learning new things from them.

have found the learning Box but can't help thinking there must be some more sophisticated but similar reading/learning collections out there. have looked on Amazon (the American site appears to have more products but no pictures or limited availability or very, very expensive) and didn't get anywhere.
There is something called 'y first Learning Box' published by Rader's Digest for about £50 but no pictures or reviews.
Also 'The Reading Box' by Linda Lonon Blanton, Linda Lee
Heinle & Heinle Publishing at £275 again no pictures or reviews.
Of course I'm not going to spend that much but at least if I know what is interesting or find more info I can look for them in charity shops or ebay (or save up for the next 20 years for my grandchildren )
have any of you used such books collections or heard of them?

never heard of it branster but dd2 (2) loves looking at the Dorling Kindersley books and learning new words for things -probably your dd is more advanced but they are still pretty good?

Branster · 17/11/2004 09:25

I wouldn't say she's more advanced but I think there is a fun element with these kind of systems: small bokks about one individual letter/number. I think the knowledge is easier to assimilate.
here are the links to give you an idea:
My First Learning Box £53 is one of those I cannot tell what they are exactly as there are no pictures or comments available.

The Reading Box at £275!!! again no idea what it may be and why is it so expensive.

The Learning Box this is the one we have. pretty basic but fun for a toddler.

And yes, the Dorling Kindersley are so good! Do they do one about reading? They have such good illustrations.
