Book People are fantastic, Coddy. You can get cookery books really cheap, and the kids selection is fantastic.

I'm about to order a load of stuff for all DS's little friends' Christmas presents. It's the only way we can afford to give them all something nice for under a fiver.

Just got a cook book last month which I'd nearly paid £25 for in Waterstones - got it from book people for only £6!

Book people are FAB!

Agree Book People are excellent - but in small defence of traditional booksellers, they are selling slightly different products, although they look the same. Book People and others like them sell book club editions which are printed on cheaper paper and are bound more cheaply, ie glued rather than sewn. Having said that, I rarely buy from the High Street!

Just got some books from Book People - A set of Gruffolo, SMartest Giant, Monkey Puzzle & Squash & a Squeeze all hardback - 8.99 for the lot !

Just managed to spend over £40 on the Book People and its all your fault Coddy.

Mind you, I got 2 x 20 Usborne Farmyard Tales in preparation for DS2s party bags (not till March but these are perfect!), 10 x picture books for extra presents here and there, a set of 5 Flat Stanley books (your fault again, Coddy!) and a free Incredibles fun file.

It won't beat the whole experience of browsing in a proper bookshop though. No matter how stressed I am, I always feel realxed as soon as I walk through the door of one

Book people and red house books are both fantastic.

I buy lots and lots of books in one go - usually you get points or vouchers off next order and a free book if you put in a big order.

I then put them past for birthday and christmas presents for my DCs classmates and friends. I much prefer giving books rather than a load of other trash for party presents.

Some of the sets are extremely good value and I split these up and give them out instead of the dreaded party bags!

Delivery etc on both companies has been excellent.
