Was thinking about the wooden elc one,dd is 3 so lovely for now but wondering if she'll grow out of it quickly as it looks as if it's aimed at the younger end of the market. The other type of wooden dolls houses seemed to be aimed at much older kids-14 said one!!!! Kind of thought she'd be into boys by then. Want to get one that will last the longest-any advice?????

We have bought one from Dolls House Emporium for dd (3). I reckon it'll last!

My DD stopped playing with her dolls and dolls house when she was 8.

What type was it Castille? The junior elc type or a more sophisticated one???

My dds are 10 & 8 and both of them still play with it. However, dd2 is the one who plays with it more frequently now. We've got a wooden one with wooden furniture and wooden dolls.

Thanks for that, if she plays with it until 8 I'll be happy. Not sure I can live with sickly pink and yellow of rosebud house for that long though!!!!! A nice sophisticated blue would have been nice, she'll love it though and as dp keeps reminding me it's not for me {envy]

She had a big Sylvanian families-type one. Not hugely sophisticated but with a lot of tiny pieces that she really liked. On reflection I think she was more like 9 when she stopped playing with it.

I bought my daughter a dolls house for Christmas last year, when she was just two. It's a very beautiful medieval wooden castle and she has lots of wooden furniture (Swiss chalet style), Swiss chalet people... and a full-on Miele kitchen

Oh, and lots of very sweet playground toys - slide, tricycle etc.

She seems to love it and it's not babyish and I think it can evolve with her into another sort of dwelling.
