Super king sized beds

Anyone bought a super kingsized bed and later regretted it when they moved?

We're taking out a small mortgage on a superdooper new mattress and I think for the extra £100 we should get a super king sized one and then get a new bedstead too. I'm 5ft10, DH is 6ft3, neither of us is a waif... And I like the idea of DD & DS joining us for eventual weekend lie-ins.

DH reckons we'll regret it if/when we come to move cos it may not fit a new bedroom (we have BAGS of room now, bedroom is over 6x4metres)

So, all you super king sizers, does your bed fit OK in your boudoir, or does it dominate it??!! Is it worth the extra ££££? (I know the answer to the latter, just need some ammunition to persuade DH and entice him into the Feather & Black bed sale this weekend )

Oh yes, meant ironing duvet covers not duvets. Don't iron them either

On a friend and ex boss's advice we bought a king size and would never go back to a double now. Go for the biggest bed you can. Though bedding can be dear.

We have a super king sized bed and it is wonderful. Quite often the 4 of us wake up in it together (2 dds crawl in without us knowing). I couldnt handle the duvet size though so we have settled on two single quilts which is lovely as dh can't roll over and take my half with him.

I personally do not have one, but a colleague recently said he does. He said 'we can even have guests in it' - pmsl.
He said it was the best thing he ever did, can accommodate him, wife and kids, no more annoyances... He uses the same argument as FrannyandZooey.
And I would get one too, if it would fit in my bedroom!

I have one and will never ever have a smaller bed again it is great I get my bedding in Debenhams on their sale days and that is lovely too!

Thanks all again

So - iron/metal or wood??? (Not too keen on divans even though they're meant to be a better sleeping platform)

Wood, definitely.

And whoever irons their bedding - you have too much time on your hands!

I think that upholstered bed frames are the nicest, soft enough to lean back on if you sit up in bed and they give a room a softer edge too. Feather and Black has some smart ones.
