Double buggy as a "spare", which would you choose?

If you wanted a double buggy to fit a 6 month old and a very heavy toddler, and it was only being used for holidays (so will be battered on luggage carousels) and shoving in the boot of the car would you:

a. Buy the cheapest one in Argos for £80

b. Buy a Maclaren off eBay for about the same price

I'm tempted to just buy from Argos, but the last cheap pushchair we bought lasted about 5 minutes... plus I put my back out every time I push DS in it.

Have never bought a pushchair second hand before though.

I considered this in the summer
Most of what I found on ebay was knackered - look at the state of the wheels
or it was people selling it on having already bought it 2nd hand (I could see this from their feedback)

I look at an NCT sale but they only had the maclaren twin techno and the person wanted 120 quid for it
(the triumph is 125 new)

I bought a new maclaren twin triumph online from boots - it was discounted and they are again 99 quid all new
if you find a code you can probably get a load of extra points on it too

Buy it on Mumsnet! I wanted a cheap spare buggy but decent to push, though a M&P pulse would do the trick, put it in Wanted and got it for £40 delivered (they are £100 new). It has been fab.

Re-use and re-cycle!

Ooh I might try the wanted section first and if that fails then we can fall back on the Boots bargain... although £100 is still a bit much for something that is going to get bashed around at the airport.
