I think there was another thread on this further down somewhere. But I am not sure how to link things.

I have got the vtech first steps one. My dd is 1 and loves it so much. It really got her moving on her feet much more than before. My only little problem with it is that we have lovely wooden floors which are fab but also means that the walker can zoom along like a Formula 1 car on them, so I feel I need to be right by her. Once she nearly bashed her face on it as she tried to run before she could walk! But I still love it. The activity centre that you can take off has been really useful and the fact that it has an English accent.
hope this helps.

Your bog standard dollies pushchair, 4.99 from Argos is always a winner. They can strap their favourite teddy in it and be off all day.

Or do you mean the type you sit them in and let their legs dangle before they can actually walk?

my mother got dd the vtech one and then i went and bought this one .

TBH the vtech one is tons better. I found the fisher price one unstable- if she pushes it against something and keeps on pushing then it topples over and takes dd with it plus the vtech one has loads more on the front of it.

We had a brick trolley with bricks from elc which was pretty stable. However until they can really bear their own weight and momentum these and dolly prams will tip or run away with them a bit - they soon learn to balance themselves though !!

no suzywong, not the ones where they dangle their feet, i've been told that those are not recommended anymore due to too many accidents. but those from the old school of thought, ie my mum and m-i-l, keep telling me to put dd in one of those, with the m-i-l saying "if my daughter, who is a doctor, can put her kid in a babywalker, i don't see why YOu shouldn't" type of comments!! siigh

thanks everyone, for the great recommendations.the vtech one is on 10pct off at my local toyshop!! may just have a quick look at it..
