Right, forget all that guff about the Bruin buggy, it's a PRESTO buggy, but it does look a bit like a Quinny Zapp. Anyone got one?

Oh I think they are great! They fold just like a Maclaren, and are really nice to push. I have heard they don't push so well on rough ground, but they are the perfect shopping buggy! Sooo much better than a flimsy Zapp! HTH

i had one and swopped it for a zapp. the presto was really nice, i just fancied a change. the main diffrence is the presto reclines. easy to fold and fairly sturdy.
the only drawback with the presto is that i kept nearly tipping my dd out if it. the 2 small front wheels, if not facing the right way up kerbs, would sometimes catch on the kerb, and kind of bend the wheels, and stop dead.
i actually had one lady stop me and asked me if mine did it as hers did and she was thinking of taking it back.
you just have to make sure, when you go up a kerb, that you have lifted it up far enough, and it wont catch.

I had a presto. I took it back after 2 weeks. I also had the tipping problem on kerbs. Found it very dangerous as my Ds 2yrs mannaged to get his arms out of the straps and leant forwards just to the side of the front wheels and the pram over balanced forwards. I caught the pram just before his face hit the pavement. If you look at the ones in store and press on the frame just to the side of the front wheels it tips.

bluemonkey- i am sorry to go on about this after a long time, but it ha been playing on my mind ever since!! what did they say when you took the buggy back? i thought that if you had used something, then you couldnt return them.
i just wondered if they took it back without any argument?

BlueMonkey · 08/12/2007 21:40

lizandlulu sorry just seen your post. I took it back to toysrus and told them what had happened and that in my opinion it was a very dangerous pram and I would like to return it. They didnt argue and gave me my money back, I didn't even return the instruction booklet or the shoulderstraps. The fact that they didn't argue leads me to belive that they had problems before with the pram.

lizandlulu · 08/12/2007 22:34

i was in 2 minds weather to return mine, but i just though it was just me, and they would laugh in my face.
it only ever happened a couple of times, and i just made sure that i tilted it upwards more to clear the kerb!

hi - sorry only just got back to this thread. thanks for your replies, it's a bit of a worry what you say about it tipping up, especially as my ds is a buggy escapist!! i'll get dh to test drive it, he has really big feet (fnar!) so he catches his feet on the back of traditional style umbrella fold buggies. if he doesn't like it then the tipping will be a deal breaker i think.

anyone got any other recommendations for a stroller for a man with big feet?

Its not a stroller per se, but my Loola is far off the ground - my man's a yeti also and gets easily annoyed by buggies!

lizandlulu · 10/12/2007 20:27

i had a maclaren xlr which has really high handles. or is it just his feet. not sure if it also higher off the ground tho.
