Slippery issue

I can't help feeling that I missed a trick somewhere when I shelled out £15 for a rather nasty pink and mauve velour pair of flashing slippers for my daughter. They are quite horrid (though she thinks they are the most beautiful shoes in the world, of course).

I do find slippers quite useful for knocking around the house - we have cold (and often grubby) floors.

I don't mind getting something a bit poncey - lambskin lined? Or, umm... suede? And I'd quite like to get something unisex in case next sprog is a boy (slippers can be passed on down the generations, right?)

And they'd need to have proper rubber soles I suppose, to minimise slipping or wearing out.

What about baby moccasins? Do they make those? Would they stay on?

I feel I haven't quite grasped the slipper issue and would benefit from knowing what you all do. Please enlighten me.

I use lovely Inch Blue first shoes for the small DCs as they do them in child's sizes. Have seen baby moccasins, think it was jo jo maman or vertbaudet

Those Inch Blue shoes are gorgeous!

Are the soles tough enough to withstand a typically boisterous toddler though? Hmmm.

Oh yes, they are well made, DD is 2.8 and wears hers in the house and round the garden (which kind of defeats to point of them being slippers!)
