What are the good brands of kitchen knife please?

DH is getting me some decent kitchen knives for Xmas - anyone know what are the best?

I personally prefer sabatier or henkels to global, but I like a knife with a good weight. I use my 8" sabatier most - we do lots of veg as dh is vegetarian.
