i have just come across these www.didicar.co.uk/?gclid=CMrCx7inipACFQdOMAodWUK9kA

it says that they are even fun for adults! have a look at the see them in action bit.

i know they are probably best for young kids but ds1 is 12 and ds2 is 8 and they are both such clowns lol they spend all their time (other than gaming) just being silly, rolling around the floor, playing mad games together!

I was considering buying one of these for christmas as i think they would have a laugh with it. BUT, i don't want to get it totally wrong and insult them with a toddler style toy iyswim.

what do you think??

The children on the pictures on the site all look very young. My ds1 is 10 and tbh I can't imagine how he would manage to fold up his legs to fit on one of these, or where he would put his knees!

If my boys opened one of these on Christmas day they wouldn't be impressed, and would assume it was some kind of a mistake.

They look great for littlies though

We've got one and it's only been out of the box once

It was a present but unless you have a large smooth outdoor area, or a huge room indoors where they can use it, it's not much cop. But my 9 year old can ride it quite easily and I managed a go too (but I am a shortarse)

I'll sell you ours if you like

We bought a couple a few years ago. When we take them to Greenwich Park we get very envious looks, esp from the other dads watching us whizzing down the hills. They can go very fast. They are very strong and take up to 16stone so DH and I use them too.

theyre fantastic,we had them in preschool i worked in.so much fun but i agree have to have large flat space.no grass etc.

would they work along the pavement? or my living room is pretty big with a laminate floor??

would it be considered a bit of a babyish present though do you think for their ages??

They do work on pavement and as you can get yourself around without using your legs your arms get a great workout esp uphill.

My DCs are still young compared to yours (5 & 3) so can't really comment on whether yours are too old for them, but if you think they'd like them they probably will, if you have two they can race etc.

My DH originally bought them more for us than the DCs, they'd have to perch in front of us as legs were too short. But everyone who's seen ours think they're great and even the grandparents have had a go).

We didn't go for the stickers as I thought that babyfied them, we just have red and yellow ones, but the purple one looks really nice.
