Am planning on purchasing one of these as I like the fact it has no nooks and crannies for food to fester in - am a bit lazy and think it'll be the easiest to keep clean also a bit broke and like the price but.....

Being white plastic, do you find that spag bol and other tomato based dinners stain it?

Nope - I give it a scrub every time and it has remained white through many a tomato sauce onslaught!

Tis a fab, low-maintenance high chair.

WindUpBird · 29/11/2007 11:09

It's a great chair, dd has one at Grandma's. DD is a messy eater and the chair is spotless, no stains

Astrophe · 29/11/2007 11:11

our tray is stained a tiny bit, but not very noticeable at all. you can always take the tray off anyway, or buy a new one if it gets bad. get one, they are fab.

evenhope · 29/11/2007 11:41

No stain on ours either

Yokefleet · 29/11/2007 11:42

ours is not stained either. A really good buy x

I took great delight in throwing out our old mothercare padded one, it was a nightmare to clean. Am planning on investing in an Ikea one for the next one.

ComeOVeneer · 29/11/2007 11:51

One small fault I have found with it is the legs protrude quite a bit (this makes it very stable but we often find people trip over them when walking past.)

Seona1973 · 29/11/2007 13:01

the trays are purchased seperately (for about £3) so if it does get in a state you can replace it easily (and cheaply). Mine hasnt stained either btw.

KashaSarrasin · 29/11/2007 13:04

No stains here, after 18 months use with a very messy eater And very easy to wipe clean.

TheYoungVisiter · 29/11/2007 13:10

no stains here - we have an antilop and a tripp trapp and I love them both!

As COV says though, Antilop are a bit of a pain if you have a small house/kitchen as they don't fold and have a bigger than average footprint.

InTheseShoes · 29/11/2007 14:03

IMHO the best high chair there is, fab value for money. With DS1 we received a tres poncy one as a gift and I was hugely jealous of my Mum's Antilop. As a result, for DS2, as I don't work at the place who bought me the poncy one, I happily purchased an Antilop - easy to clean, pretty nice looking and comfy. DS2 is really happy in it.

donnie · 29/11/2007 14:08

wedding cake where do you live? because you can have mine for free if you like. I live in North London and no longer need it.

shrinkingsagpuss · 29/11/2007 14:16

How much are they? We had a Hauck high chair with no tray for DS and it was hopeless, just the thought of re assembling it fills me with dread!! i've got to go to Lakeside soon for some lights and stuff, so I think I might get one.

donnie · 29/11/2007 14:18

they cost about £15 including the tray and take about 10 seconds to assemble.

Aitch · 29/11/2007 14:18

£15 all in. great highchairs, no staining, can be dumped in the shower if it all becomes too much. funnily enough i don't find the footprint a problem and have no space here. must depend on where you put it when the baby is eating, i suppose.

Aitch · 29/11/2007 14:19

and about 10 secs to disassemble for taking to pal's houses as well.

weddingcake · 29/11/2007 14:41

Thank you all so much for your quick response, especially Donnie for your kind offer - I have a friend who's in Ikea right this minute buying one for me! How exciting....and how sad is my life these days that I'm so excited!

OP posts:
donnie · 29/11/2007 14:43

I just can't get rid of it!!

Aitch · 29/11/2007 14:47

are there no asylum seekers charities near you? they're great for giving baby stuff to.

castille · 29/11/2007 16:14

I saw a very battered one in a second-hand shop recently (in France) for 20 euros... they only cost 16 euros new here
