Quick question re: food shopping home delivery

I don’t ‘do’ online food shopping’s but we have had to self-isolate and so, or the first time ever, I’ve done a small online supermarket shop, arriving between 9pm and 10pm tonight.
Just wondering how it works!
I think they are ‘bagless’ so do they bring the shopping to the door in bags and I have to transfer to my own bags or boxes?
Really boring I know.
Just wanted to be prepared!

They bring the shipping to the door in crates. You unpack into bags, a crate at a time. I usually try and set up a human chain of dc and Dh with some bags life.

If there are any substitutes you can accept them or give them back to the driver (fir later refund). You’ll probably have email by now telling you what’s coming.
I just get bags for life ready and transfer from the crates as quickly as possible.
One property where I get deliveries has a porch so the big trolley doesn’t feature. Driver plonks crates on front patio and I do most of it outside.
Other property driver brings big trolley with all crates into front hallway where the transfer takes place.
I use two sains and Waitrose. Both are pretty good at email 15 mins before expected arrival. Later in the day they also call to explain any delays or lateness.

Oh and every now and then they are very early. Basically I’m ready in plenty of time.

We get Tesco most weeks. The driver puts the crates in the hall, dh and ds2 carry the crates into the kitchen and put them on the work top. I unload the shopping and dh and ds return the crates. I can then put it away at my leisure. I’m not sure how that would work with self isolating.

I sometimes get a Waitrose delivery and it’s bag less (I usually use Ocado who DO use bags).

The (masked) delivery person puts the crates on my doorstep and I then empty the shopping into my washing baskets. With Waitrose at the moment they don’t let you touch the crates (covid).

Ocado bring the crates to the door then you can unload the bags out of them. You should get notification prior to deliver of any substitutions, so you can just hand them back to the driver if you don’t want them.
