I need a lovely baby toy, any suggestions?

A mum has offered to buy childminding a toy for Christmas which is lovely & so kind

But what should I buy?

I wondered about another baby gym (as we have 3 under 1's in March) but I'm not sure

Could anyone help?

I really like wooden toys and if it's lovely I will add some money to what she is giving me

But I just feel a bit jaded with picking presents as I have organised about 30 for Father Christmas to give out at the childminding party

Oh and it can't really be cloth/material as it will be used by several children during a day

Those wooden puzzles of animal shapes are always lovely and great for very small children. And not expensive and very robust.

Crikey.

I read that as "I need a lovely baby boy, any suggestions?"

Was going to offer you mine

Katymac · 27/11/2007 09:41

I'll have him Mossy....but I charge £3.50 an hour

I saw a horseshoe shaped one with bees & flowers hanging off a leaf in a catalogue once - but I can't find it

not sure how much you are looking to spend, which makes suggestions difficult, but

some nice wooden things here, baby walker with blocks maybe?

stacking wooden man?

wooden sorting box

or here

Katymac · 27/11/2007 21:29

Thanks Orchie - about £30 - but would add to it to make £60 for the right toy

I have the sorting box, baby walker with blocks, several version of ducks & stackers

I do like the elf blocks & the discovery blocks tho' they are unusual

dd was give a lovely wooden cube that had numbers and xylophone and maze on the sides and then the top had a lovely bead maze. She used to play with it so much and now my ds has it and loves it just as much.

I think the one she has was by East coast?? not sure as it was a present.

"wooden activity cube"

the top reverses into the cube for easy storage as well which I loved.

toy chest

Not wooden but Lamaze toys were always popular with my two. Have a look on Amazon.

carameli-how old were ur children when they started playing with it? Just wondered how accurate the manufacturers age of 12 months+ was?
