DD keeps stealing my perfume and I thought maybe I could get her a kids one for xmas. Have googled but not found much. Anyone recommend one. Obviously something light and gentle so she can smell of strawberries or something like that. She's 4 btw!

JackieNo · 26/11/2007 21:27

Nbg · 26/11/2007 21:28

I'd deffo go to the body shop or maybe try Boot's natural collections body sprays???

Bought the Zara one for my DD who tried it and loved it it'll be a stocking filler. She's 8 btw.

DD has some Barbie perfume, bought by a friend for her birthday. It smells very very sweet! But DD likes it for the odd dress up session or party, and you can often get is cheap in Boots.

This one is for 3 years up

Yes - my DD has the Barbie one too, but I loathe the smell. Too pungent.

You are all a wonderful source of information - much better than google
Darling sausage that LOccitane one looks gorgeous, I might ask father christmas to get it for me (then dd will steal it again!).
I've now got plenty of ideas. Thanks ladies

As a kid my sis and I made our own with rose-petals and pond water

Smelt gross I'm sure - but to be honest thats as close as I intend my dd to get to perfume for a good few more years! (she's nearly 4)

prob not helpful....sorry!

taffy101 · 26/11/2007 21:40

I see your point dibertina and I agree but dd is stealing mine anyway, at least a kids one should be gentler - i hope

yes dd found the barbie one i a French hypermarket and sprayed liberally. bet it still stinks in there!!1 lol!! It was a tad sweet I ahve to say - that's why I have never actually bought it for her. Just go back to Leclerc hypermarket in Quimper if you want a sample sniff!

dilbertina · 26/11/2007 21:58

glad you didn't take offence taffy101! I know, my dd will prob. rebel and sneak off and get tatoos and assorted piercings in a few years...!

Would your dd be fobbed off with one of those refillable atomiser things filled with water?

taffy101 · 26/11/2007 21:59

That might well work and also be cheaper

Careful - perfume on a child's delicate skin can cause irritation.

I wouldn't buy perfume for such a young child. Why not fill up an empty bottle with a bit of scented baby oil and water? Much nicer for their skin.

I also have a dd(4) who is into trying all of my products including perfume which I don't like her doing really. She also loves putting turqoise eyeshadow on her upper lip Now you have me thinking wether to get her the Loccitane water for Christmas as it looks gentle (probably more harmless than those fruity smelling shampoos). Anyway, the novelty would quickly wear off and I could use it then

ChristmasShinySnowflakes · 26/11/2007 22:38

There was a lovely one scented with Parma Violets that I used to have as a child......

jezzemx · 26/11/2007 22:38

Barbie have a range, someone got dd it for christmas last year (was not keen) but she wears it every now and again for parties.
