Yes.

I can make a cup of tea while doing dd2 bottle.
Takes about 30 seconds.

I would say it is noisy for the few seconds when in use.

Have had it for about 6 weeks.

WendyWeber · 26/11/2007 22:07

3 seconds? Surely not!

lizziemun · 26/11/2007 22:24

From the point of pressing the button you get boiling water in 3 seconds. Takes about 30 seconds to fill an average cup (9oz's).

If you need a technical answer i have to get DH to tell as i don't quite understand how

Oh, so it's only 3 secs for just a smidgen of water? (techy term )

kid · 26/11/2007 22:33

Dh sells these at his work. I think its a great idea, not sure that I will be getting one though. Then again, I could do with a new gadget in the kitchen as my bread maker and George Foreman grill have now been living in the cupboard for the past couple of years.

I saw one on TV tonight, they do look good. Even if it takes 30 seconds to fill the cup up, its still faster than my kettle.

lizziemun · 26/11/2007 22:37

We only get one because out kettle fell to pieces and DH (techy person) saw one in Costco for the same price as a new kettle.

Was only £40 as apposed to £60.

Flamesparrow · 26/11/2007 22:38

ooh I seem to recall Scott Mills getting excited about one of these

Flamesparrow · 26/11/2007 22:41

Suddenly picturing bedroom... cup of water, small thing of milk..... tea IN BED

Where do i get one and how much are they???

kid · 26/11/2007 23:26

Amazon are doing them for £50 at the moment. Most other places charge £60.

I had a similar thing called a "Blitz kettle" (?) about 15 years ago and it blew up. (While it worked, it didn't do the water in seconds, but it was certainly quicker than usual - maybe about 1 minute.)

I fancied on eof these as I drink gallons of green tea when working at home-that was until I realised that my giant mug wouldn't fit under the spout thing....back to boiling the kettle for me.....
