Has anyone used one of those rechargeable battery packs/charging station you can get for the Wii remotes? DSs go through an inordinate number of batteries for theirs.

no, but im getting my step mum one for xmas. They look much better to use than replacing batteries

SoupDragon · 23/11/2007 16:11

That's what I thought.

juicychops · 23/11/2007 19:27

They have them in Argos and also in Virgin.

yes - we bought one a few weeks after the wii as the batteries lasted about 5 days at first. Did you want to ask a question about it?

Charlee · 24/11/2007 08:24

Yes they are great so easy you just plug them into the wii then put the controlers in when they are not being used.

auntyquated · 24/11/2007 08:31

do you mean one of these

Just wondered if they were as good as they seem really. I plan on having it plugged into a USB port on my PC to charge though as, IIRC, they don't charge if the Wii is off.

Link for free wii remote jackets. Might stick it on a separate thread actually.

Cod, where can you buy them for 1p?

nutcracker · 24/11/2007 16:32

We just use rechargable batteries.

RubberDuck · 24/11/2007 16:43

Soupy - looking at the reviews on the amazon site (if the link auntyquainted gave is the one you're thinking of) a lot of reviewers are reporting that their wii remotes were broken by the device. I'd be a bit cautious given that, tbh.

SoupDragon · 24/11/2007 16:55

The link you gave was for the US, MaryBPoppins.

UK site, follow the link at the bottom for remote jackets

It's a similar thing, Rubberduck. Same idea anyway. Those reviews seem to be poles apart - some saying they're fine, some saying there's a problem.

OP posts:
RubberDuck · 24/11/2007 17:04

Yeah... given that I recently bought a hard drive with similarly polarized love/hate reviews and had to return it within 7 days cos it spectacularly failed, I'm very wary of any bad review of the major "this broke my expensive electrical appliance" sort now.

Is it really much more problematic just to have a separate charger and just swap the batteries over every now and then? I know it doesn't look as neat...

LyraSilvertongue · 24/11/2007 17:37

I just bought one on eBay for 1p. Hope it's ok.
