help me find the easiest pushchair to push one handed??

much as i adore my loola, and parting with it will upset me, i can't seem to push it one handed with dd holding my other hand now that she is walking a bit more outside. that combined with my possible carpal tunnel syndrome, I need to find one that is easier to push one handed. I like the look of the pliko x-lite but i'm not convinced it will be much easier than the loola even though it is a lot lighter? i had a citisport a few years ago that was nice to push but didn't seem to fit dd1 for long? oh and it must be under £100!! the cheaper the better really as dd2 will be my last dc so can't warrant spending loads on it!!thanks ladies!!

My Maclaren Techno is a dream to push one handed, though I see I'm in a minority of one

sweetkitty · 21/11/2007 21:20

I can push my Maclaren Techno no problem one handed.

What I do is use a wrist strap, so hook it around both our wrists, tell DD1 to hold onto the pram and I still have two hands to push the buggy but have a safety net.

To be honest now I just take the wrist strap along to threaten DD1 with if she doesn't hold the pram which seems to work.

the pop has 2 handles doesn't it?? doesn't that make it quite difficult to push one handed?

oooggs · 21/11/2007 21:31

my double nipper is easy one handed so I suppose the single must be

NappiesLaChristmasGit · 21/11/2007 21:35

easiest ones to push one handed that ive used, off the top of my head, are;
maclarens (all of em),
phil and teds,
abc buggy co,
M&P aria, but only with a newborn who doesnt weigh anything in .

but im out of date now, im sure theres more out there now...

MrsCellophane · 21/11/2007 21:36

My Graco does the job just fine.

NappiesLaChristmasGit · 21/11/2007 21:39

gracos also usually have the advantage of being light, having big baskets and being relatively cheap. bonus.

CarGirl · 21/11/2007 21:41

yes I forgot - graco mirage, really light and easy to push

amazonianwoman · 21/11/2007 22:06

Another vote for the Mountain Buggy Urban - I only ever push mine one-handed as always holding DD's hand

Expensive new but you may find a good deal 2nd hand - they're built to last so should still be in good condition.

The baby jogger is also meant to be great, is only around £210 new and is super easy to fold

Astrophe · 21/11/2007 22:08

Get something with one handle - you can hold it in the middle with one hand which akes it soooo much easier

NoviceKnitter · 21/11/2007 22:33

icandy Cherry v easy for this - one reason why i got - also v light

nappyaddict · 22/11/2007 00:09

what's the icandy cherry like with a heavier toddler in it?

leonieandevie · 22/11/2007 00:26

I have an icandy cherry - never used, if anyone wants one - offers please as I've got to sell it before I head off to Oz.

NoviceKnitter · 22/11/2007 07:31

nappy addict - sorry, don't know as DD still tiny...

AnAngelWithin · 22/11/2007 09:27

how much are you wanting for the icandy cherry leonieandevie?

whats a BOB LVOC??

i don't think i want a 3 wheeler. ive had 3 in the past and always ended up selling them. I don't know if a mountain buggy would be any different?

dd666 · 22/11/2007 09:54

yes the pop has two handles but so did my zapp and the pop is much nicer to push more comfortable for my dd too as it lies down has foot rest etc. much more manageable for curbs etc and its easy to fold.
i love my pop and its about my 7/8 pushchair and this is what i find the best for one handed pushing!

nappyaddict · 22/11/2007 09:55

the mutsy's reaaaaaaaaaaally light to push. i can push it with a finger tip!

AnAngelWithin · 22/11/2007 09:56

doesnt the mutsy weight something silly like 16kg though??

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 22/11/2007 10:05

10.5kg

amazonianwoman · 22/11/2007 10:11

Ah, but the mountain buggy is the rolls royce of 3-wheelers - none of the others compare

LadyVictoriaOfCakeThe2nd · 22/11/2007 10:22

actually amazonianwoman, the BOB is pretty much just as good as the MB IMO. i absolutly love it. go to strollers

amazonianwoman · 22/11/2007 10:33

Yeah, have heard great things about the BOB on US sites Never seen one in the flesh.

Also saw the Baby Jogger for the 1st time a couple of weeks ago and would say that looks as good in terms of manoeuvrability - and fab folding mechanism

Will stop before I start to sound like a 3-wheeler bore...

LadyVictoriaOfCakeThe2nd · 22/11/2007 10:38

i am a 3 wheeler bore...

nappyaddict · 22/11/2007 10:51

can't vouch for them personally but what a bargain!
