I got these pretty regularly with my first pregnancy. It started off once every couple of weeks then got to every couple of days. Haven’t had any since giving birth 18 months ago though. I put it down to hormones!! I felt like different parts of my body had gone numb but would normally feel fine again a few hours later. I think it is quite normal to have migraine changes during pregnancy.

There horrible arnt they, I’m actually not pregnant but I feel like I do get them after giving birth too my little boy is 4 months old and today I had one it was horrible 😭 I think for me my triggers r definitely hormonal , I don’t no anyone else with the same symptoms so it freaks me out , I’ve gotten them when I first had my first born 9 years ago x

Yes, I get them. Triggered by eye strain (screen use and scrolling phone), stress, being overtired. Horrible things, they make me feel tired and a bit sick afterwards, brain of cotton wool.

I also become less able to think of words or express myself fluently. Slurred speech.

There visuals are really annoying.

I can often head them off if I recognise it early enough.

Same symptoms for me, plus headache. If I take painkillers as soon as I notice my vision start to go funny, and lay down in the dark for a bit (or at least stop looking at screens), it usually goes away. It's especially annoying if it happens when I'm working, because I pretty much lose the ability to read and type while it's happening.

I have had a few of these in the past few years. They’re so awful. I usually head straight for bed in a dark room and take pain killers and they go fairly quickly.
After the first time I was terrified that one would come on when I was alone and out somewhere with my children. Luckily that has never happened. They are so debilitating. I don’t know what you would do!

Yes I get these and I also have the difficulty forming words and can’t read, even if I could see well enough with the flashing lights, the words don’t make sense, likes I’ve actually forgotten how to read. I feel very tired afterwards
Mine are definitely hormonal, started after birth of second son and come pretty regularly around my period and in a bad month half way through my cycle too.

They are better when I am healthier, take magnesium and have reflexology (weird I know but it works)
There’s also a pill you can get from your gp called Rizatriptan which seems to help, it Reduces swelling of blood vessels surrounding the brain. I try and keep mine under control naturally but it’s a good last resort to keep on hand

I’ve had them since I was in my teens and they scare me every time. Once the ocular disturbance goes ) usually after about 10 minutes) I get a dreadful sick headache. Medication completely knocks me out but then again, so does the attack so it’s always bed. When I had one during pregnancy, I thought I’d had a stroke because my fingers went numb and my speech came out back to front. I’m so sorry you experience these.
