ARRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!!!
Had a Graco travel system, was OK, reclaimed bank charges felt a bit rich, got an iCandy Cherry (also liked the rear facing thing) it has broken 3 times and I am sick of taking it back to the shop and borrowing theirs for a week while iCandy sort it out. RAH! Firstly can I just take it back as a wheel fell off the other day on holiday leaving me stranded with pushchair broken, dd can't walk that far, shopping and freezing coldness to deal with. This is the 3rd time its broken so is it reasonable to ask for my money back?
And so what to get instead? I like larger wheels, maybe air ones, but it needs to fold up and stand in my super skinny hallway. It needs a decent shopping basket and needs to be light ish to push as I walk everywhere. Any ideas? Sorry I know this subject has been done to death but I spent AGES researching for the Cherry and was sorely disappointed

Depends on your budget, but have you thought about the bebe confort loola? or the Quinny buzz? Both reversible seats.

Kiddicare have a huge range for all budgets, I've bought from them in the past and they have always been cheapest and reliable.

pamplemousse · 19/11/2007 12:48

Yes but both these have rubbish shopping baskets I think, though the Loola could have it hung from handles...and it umbrella folds...

I say you can never beat a Maclaren for compactness, but has a really small basket.

The Phil and Teds are good, friend bought one for DD, then she 'coverted' the shopping basket area when she had DS. Now she has double-decker children .

If you like the reversible seat, have you thought about the otutto?

It's great - is very easy to push (have had my 3 year old in mine and it's still easy to push/steer), totally lie flat seat, really roomy.

I'm looking to sell mine (9 months old, great condition - only selling as had to concede defeat and get a double) if you're interested?

icoo infinity? very reliable and has all the features of the icandy really!

Nice buggy- good for the price!

pamplemousse · 19/11/2007 13:10

Thats a good idea ttc although dp knows about Phil and Teds now and would start panicking if I bought one! WOuld be financially a good plan though as there is always the option to convert it. It will go on my list thanks!
sf the ottuto looks interwsting, how did you find it? How much are you looking at though as it looks expensive.
The i'coo one I nearly bought but couldn't find a stockist near me so I could try it, I don't like buying things if I haven't folded it myself, etc.

Just get a little maclaren. nicest buggy I have ever had. You can hang shopping from the handles.

silverfrog · 19/11/2007 13:18

I found it by doing huuuuuge research before dd2 was born.

I wanted:

reversible seat
total lie-flat
easy to push (potentially one-handed as I would be hanging on to dd1)
easy-ish to fold (but not top of my list of priorities)
roomy (dd1 at 2 1/2 when looking, was 1m tall, and big with it. Made that mistake with her buggy as got a M&P Pliko which was tiny for her by the time she was 18 months. Took me by surprise as dh & I aren't very tall)

By a slow and painful process of elimination, I arrived at the Otutto. It's really marvellous, and I wish i could still use it. I have had to go for a double because dd1 is autistic, and, whilst I had high hopes of having her walking everywhere by now (she will do distances very easily - loves walking) she does not bhave well in shops/towns so much less stress to have somewhere to strap her in.

My Otutto was bought from Mothercare, and still has a few months to run on the guarantee. I would be happy to get £150 for it, as would love it out of the house soon-ish (so that I can stop looking at it and thinking "I wish I could still use that....!")

silverfrog · 19/11/2007 13:19

oh, meant to say, can send you pictures if you want (in various configurations - the mothercare website isn't very good for that!)

pamplemousse · 19/11/2007 13:28

Would love some pics could you send them please. Depending on how the refund goes with pushchair shop.... may well be interested, where are you btw?

Ok, hope you get a good result from the pram shop

ScottishMummy · 20/11/2007 19:28

such a shame you had a bad time with icandy
happy shopping

pamplemousse · 22/11/2007 12:38

Thank you
I have been to the pushchair shop and the lady told me that icandy have changed the front wheels construction so I guess they must have had a lot of problems as they only released it in May or something! Anyway they are sending me a whole new chassis, again. But this time it has the newly constructed wheels so hopefully it will last.
silverfrog, thank you so much for the pictures of yours, I feel I should give the new chassis a go and I really do like the pushchair and spent ages researching it in the first place!
So sorry to get your hopes up or anything and good luck selling it. Thanks again
