Would be interested to know if anyone changes hairdressers quite often I've recently changed hairdresser to one I've been going to for years and now I'm feeling slight regret. The reason I changed was because the salon was so quiet and boring and the hairdresser just did my hair the new hairdresser is great we talk loads and is very friendly however the cut isn't great

Personally I go to the salon that does the best cut and colour.
The salon chat lasts an hour or two, the cut has to last six weeks. Also I'd rather my colourist was concentrating on getting it right.
I take a tablet with me and use the time hunting out stuff online. Emailing, doing admin. I can meet friends for a coffee later.

Similar to previous poster, my good friend was my hairdresser for years, we would often go on a big night out and I would be his first client of the following day! I didn't even have to open my eyes because I knew he would cut my hair perfectly, and as for dying it, I gave him carte blanche to just go with it. Sadly he moved two busses and two trains away ago a few years ago so I can't go to him any longer, unless I want to spend ££ on travel!
My new hairdresser put me at ease straight away, she was chatty but very confident with her scissors down to the point I asked for a particular style and she said something else would suit me far more and if definitely does!
A good hairdresser is worth their weight in gold!

Do you think hairdressers feel resentment when you go to other salons though?I feel like I've cheated on my hairdresser lol

If you like a hairdresser, stick with it. I have recently relocated and have had to change hairdresser, absolute disaster, went to a local hairdresser with good reviews, really disappointed, awful cutting technique, sat with hair dripping (my hair is thick and holds water) then burnt me twice when straightening my hair, don’t get me started on how my fringe was cut, honestly I just wanted to get out of there. I won’t be going back. Book back in with your old hairdresser, I wish I could go back to mine. Good luck.

I asked my hairdresser this once as someone wanted to switch to her. She said at most, you might think 'oh I haven't seen such and such in a long while'. She said she'd just assume somewhere else was more convenient

Silver, I did mention that I couldn't afford to be travelling so far to him every six weeks and because he's my mate I put the onus firmly on him - it was his fault for moving! I do occasionally send him photos of my new hairdo just to see what he thinks though! Never had a bad review which is great because if you knew my mate, you would know he is brutally honest!
