Looking to by ds a forward facing carseat. He's 9 months. DD has got the britax duoplus isofix from about 2 years ago but I can't for the life of me remember how we came to that decision...

Advice please. I like the look of the maxi cosi seats and inparticular the priorifix one due to it being their isofix version..
Anyone any advic. Anyone one know where I can access the safety reports.?
TIA x

Join Which? online - you can get a month's access for £1, as long as you remember to cancel within the month IYSWIM.

I did this when looking for carseats, and it was a great help.

My car doesn't have Isofix, so we ended up with Mamas and Papas Pro-tec, due to the Which? report.

will watch with interest as ds1 had the Britax duo isofix and now I need to start looking for the twins - have a few months to look as don't need them yet

Duo Isofix is still one of the highest rated by Which ? If you do a search for car seats under NannyL you'll probably find this year's.

thanks jojay and lizs. Will do a search now....Would prefer the isofix version as imo its recommended esp as we have the isofix points

Will see what I find out. x

I'm a member of which on-line (I keep forgetting to cancel my monthly subscription after the 1st free month )

The safest group 1 carseat they recommend is the maxi cosi priorifix you mentioned! They mention it's heavy and the cover is hand-wash only but is comfy and well-padded. Also doesn't fit in all cars it says. Anything else I'm happy to check for you!

Jojay · 11/11/2007 21:44

Shhh - all the top rated seats were Isofix - definitely better to go for that if your car will take it

shhhh · 11/11/2007 22:01

thanks jojay. Thats what dh & I thought. Found nannyl's thread so bumped it (oooggs...take a look.)

Canmummy, thats very kind of you . Can I be cheeky and ask if you mind checking if the maxicosi fits into the toyota corolla verso (car atm) and nissan qashqai (new car from march08). Much appreciate . No rush for the info as just off to bed. Its been a long wek and an even longer weekend with the lo's. .!!!

cheers shhhh

It didn't specify which cars it fits in but it says it has a support leg which needs a flat, solid floor to rest on and to refer to manufacturers' guidelines before buying. It says you can get it in Halfords, which I believe does a car seat fitting service, though

shhhh · 12/11/2007 14:15

thanks cm. Yes its halfords we are lookin at buying it from as they seem the cheapest atm and I think atm they are also offering extra 10% off....

Thanks again x
