And surely all your photos have to be the same way up "Oh, look, that's ds1 falling off a mountain. Oh no, my mistake - he's standing up straight, it's the photo that's the wrong way round"

We have bought both my parents and my PILs one. Parents really like theirs. PILs is or Christmas. I know that DD is getting oen for Christmas too - she loves photos to look at so will love this in her room.

I like the idea of them. I love photos though.

Hulababy · 03/12/2007 14:08

Piggy - no, most of the frames will automatically change the orientation of the photograph.

ABudafulSightWereHappyTonight · 03/12/2007 14:09

Well I kept moaning that all our photos were on the bloody computer and who wants to sit and look at them when they could be on MN being told that they are naff so DH got me one for Xmas last year and I BLOODY LOVE IT!

Well not love it but I do really like it.

And cod - yes YOU would have to take your shoes off in my house if you came for dinner. No-one else - just you!

i'm with SBIWI

except

you don't have to take off your shoes in my house... but i'd really prefer it.

Digital photo frames are the thin end of the wedge - I work with someone who has (a) a key ring with a digital photo frame and (b) cufflinks with the same. He is very impressed with them.

No, they don't show pictures of his wife, children or trips to the beach. They are all pictures of him on his motorbike on track days. And he makes sure he shows everyone.

Ubergeek. If that doesn't put you off digital photo frames nothing will

wannaBe · 03/12/2007 14:13

but we now live in this age of digital photography. So a lot of people take pictures with their digital cameras, and keep them on their computers rather than in boxes hidden up in the loft. so surely a digital photo frame is just an extention of that. the ability to be able to display chosen photographs without saying to people "oh cme and crowd round my computer screen".

ABudafulSightWereHappyTonight · 03/12/2007 14:15

Well I admit I don't really "get" the key-chain ones or cufflinks.

I like my frame though. Comes on at 3 every day and goes off at 11. Picture changes every minute I think.

harpsichordcarrier · 03/12/2007 14:19

yes I was going to get one for dh too for his desk.
couldn't givea stuff if they are naff.
so
and cod would have to take all her clothes off too when she came to my house.
she coudl keep her shoes on though

What does parp mean? It's about time I knew.

I must admit to a definite irritation at having to take my shoes off at a house dinner party.

The digital photo/film age is becoming somewhat stressful all round - having far too many photos and then having to back them up, wonder whether to print, save film to DVD... I sometimes lust for the days of the 35mm film.

Lust is a little strong perhaps.
