Anyone got a Buggypod?

Sorry I know it has been asked before but looking for up to date opinions please...

I have twins due on 2 Feb and DS will be 23 months max. He is a good walker but tends to stray and not go in the direction I want, or will dawdle. Is not good with reins.

I have bought a new Jané Powertwin for the twins, and was planning to get a Jané surfer board for DS, but have heard from a couple of people, and can now see for myself, that surfer board / buggy board will not work with either the back seat reclined, or with a car seat on (which I plan to use from birth).

So... was wondering about a buggypod. Any advice?

sorry, egg, I have no idea whether one will fit on the Jane Powertwin or not, but I have looked at them for dd2 and whilst I decided that they wouldn't be suitable for me, they do look good.

Hope someone comes along soon who has some experience of using one.

Thanks for the bump Squonk . Just looked online and they definitely are compatible with Powertwin, just they look very narrow for my (not very narrow) DS. Also he would probably refuse to get in it as he loves the Powertwin so much...

Maybe I will just stay in house for first year of twins lives .

A friend of mine was in exactly the same position and she ended up with the same combo that you have chosen! She ended up ditching the buggypod (her older ds was 2.5 and needed a bigger seat), but I believe that it is an entirely doable combination although it didn't seem to suit them. She bought hers from Winstanley's Pram World IIRC, and they were very good at advising her of the various options. She is very happy with the powertwin though and says it was worth having twins for! HTH

Yay well at least the pram will be good! Just worried about poor DS, I can see myself with DS in front seat, one DT in back in a car seat and me with another DT strapped to me. Don't think I will be walking very briskly...

you could get something like this

bagpuss · 10/11/2007 21:02

I was about to suggest that. My friend swapped the buggy pod for a board in the end. If you used a sling for 3 months then put a board on the back once they were a bit older that might work?

Now I have heard lots of bad things about the safety of the Strolli, even though it looks fab. I wouldn't trust DS to stay on it.

Buggyboard will not be an option at all unless DT in back seat is always upright in main seat, and not using car seat. They won't be upright for quite a while I don't think. Arrgh.

Keep the ideas coming though .

if you put a child in each basket you've still got another one free for your shopping

ROFL

I was planning to go to bed by 9pm but I never get on MN at night so it is fun to be here [sad person with no life emoticon].

it's almost like a Monday dinner time for me... I miss my internet-able computer!!!

I'll see if I can find something else for you....

Egg · 10/11/2007 21:23

Beginning to think I should have gone for that Adventure Buggy thing with the seat on top for DS. OK so I could never have got in the front (or back) door of my house, or through the door at nursery, but at least DS would be happy.

he wouldn't have been happy sitting in the drive in foot deep snow because you can't get the pushchair in the house

Egg · 10/11/2007 21:26

Aherm, we don't have a drive! Straight in from the street here...

Snow? Please tell me it wont snow this winter .

Not read what everyone else has said so im sorry if ive repeated anything.

We had a buggypod to go on our M&P. dd was 24 months old. I could never get on with it as when you went up kerbs you had to lift the seat up as it didnt seem to move with the buggy, also, even though DD was less than the weight limit it tended to tilt in towards the buggy. I wouldnt spend the money on it. Could you borrow anyones first to see if you do like it.
