larger bibs with sleeves

silverfrog · 09/11/2007 11:18

have posted this in SN as well, but thought would try here:

I use these (scroll down to "ultra bibs with sleeves") for dd1. They are brilliant - contain spills, easily washable/dryable and most importantly have sleeves (she is great at wafting her sleeves over her plate!)

They are now getting a little small for her and I can't find any in the next size up (medium child size!) which have sleeves - any ideas? Dd1 has mostly wet meals (ie stuff in sauces) as she refuses to drink, so sleeve-less bibs would mean multiple changes of clothes per day...

painting aprons from early learning centre?

silverfrog · 09/11/2007 11:39

I've tried painting aprons, but they don't fit as snugly and so they assist her in sweeping everything off her plate by accident (and make an even bigger mess!)

also (bad mummy emoticon) they normally can't just be chucked in the washing machine and I can't be doing with clearing everything up off them (they just end up hanging around the sink waiting to be cleaned - I am such a slacker )

Thanks anyway

Silverfrog, Baby Bjorn do long-sleeved apron bibs that still fit dd aged 4 (for painting and spaghetti).
How old is your dd1?

Meeely2 · 09/11/2007 11:50

i got painting aprons from mother care and we machine wash them.

I just put up with the resulting mess of sleeves to baggy and necks too wide as its better than dirty clothes....... Also get a mat to put under highchair.

Meeely2 · 09/11/2007 11:50

my dt's are 3, but small 3yo (in 18 - 24 month clothes)

silverfrog · 09/11/2007 12:24

ooh, interested in painting aprons you can machine wash (that is more of an issue than the mess)

dd is 3 but big (wears 4-5 clothes). she's over 1m tall I think and seems to be one of the larger ones at pre-school...

will have a google of the baby bjorn ones - the nes we have at the mo are still ok for body coverage, but the sleeves are a bit tight, which does nothing to aid her independance on putting on/taking off

thanks all, will search on

Baby Bjorn ones are machine-washable and VERY durable. These were ds'.
We had others but these are the only ones left standing. They might do your dd for a couple of years silverfrog.
