I have won an auction for an item from a German power seller. I paid by paypal and all went through ok and I have received the confirmation paypal email.

The seller has sent me an email which is both in german and then in english. It states:-

To clarify the conditions of delivery and payment, please click on following link

Here you can comfortably declare all necessary information in 4 steps.

Step 1 of 4: Declaration of the billing address.
Step 2 of 4: Declaration of the delivery address, Choice of dispatch type and method of payment.
Step 3 of 4: Receipt of bank information and confirmation of the data declared.
Step 4 of 4: procedure complete.

The bloody website they are directing me to is all in German and i have no idea what the field names are. Also regarding point 3 above, are they expecting me to resubmit my bank details ??? I wouldn't be happy doing this as have already paid by Paypal so they shouldn't need these details, surely??

Thanks

sometimes they'll send you an invoice asking for you to pay it, even if you already have. would ignore step 3, and say that you've paid through paypal already

pixiefish · 29/10/2004 22:01

email the seller direct stating that you've paid by paypal ang just give your address. did you pay extra postage?

Kayleigh · 30/10/2004 10:34

pixiefish - i paid the postage that was advised which was £7 for UK. I will email them as you say.

Tammybear I can't fill any of it out as I don't know which fields are which as it is all in german.

Dear Kayleigh Just use this site to tranlate the form fields: babelfish

Tiggiwinkle · 30/10/2004 10:48

I would email the seller direct, as Pixiefish advises. Explain that you cannot speak German-they may well speak English anyway. (The German sellers I have dealt with on Ebay have done so and have been very helpful).

Kayleigh · 31/10/2004 16:25

Have sent my email and am awaiting a reply. Thanks for all your help.

AussieSim, that is a brilliant site. If I don't hear back from them i will defintely use it. Just don't want to have to put in my credit card details in seeing as i've paid by paypal. And am sure they will end up being mandatory fields.

Hi Kayleight, if you get stuck with German again, feel free to CAT me as I'm German living in the UK

  • whatever CAT stands for , pretty new to this site and still getting to grips with shorts, but guessing from context in other postings that it means contacting...
Kayleigh · 01/11/2004 11:07

Thanks very much for the offer MrsBigD. And Yes, CAT means "Contact Another Talker" it is one of the options at the top of the talk pages.

Will CAT you if I don't here from them this week.
