A question: Cots. What makes have you bought? Are there any makes to avoid?

AND. In the books they say the slats have to be a certain distance apart. Do all cots atually conform to this, or do you need to get your ruler out?

Thanks for any info offered!

i think cosatto and o-baby are fab ranges, saplings also good but can be pricey, o-baby have a really nice range and are very reasonably priced- there is matching furniture if need be as well!!

we have a handmedown one (with new mattress)
Ikea are cheap and sturdy, M&P are overpriced IMO.
New/recent cots for sale in the UK will meet the EU regs re slat distance - you probably only need the ruler if you're buying seriously vintage or antique ones.

We have a M&P Modensa cotbed which is 4 yrs old now and servicing our second child. We chose this solely on the basis that it was the most solid one in the discount baby equipment place we visited.

we have good old mothercare's own : DC3 has just finished with it and it has been constantly in use for seven years can't be bad!! It has been put up and down plenty times and has survived everything, with only a few teeth-marks from its second occupant who had to try eating everything

LOL at your little one eating the cot! Thanks for info.
