Dd is nagging for a cat so I thought something like this might be a good substitute

What do they actually do and are they any good?

I thought along the same lines.

Dd had one a couple of years ago. They are a bit mechanical - they meow, purr, make drinking noises from a bottle and move head and paws in a robotic sort of way.

Quite cute in an eerie 'stuffed looking' sort of way although she keeps it more as an ornament these days.

Still wants a real cat though.... Obviously it didn't fool her for long, if at all!

Nooo I didnt need to hear that, lol

Would you recommend them then?

dd ahs a kitten which has a bottle to feed and reacts to touch with noise and movement. She also has a rabbit

Isnt there one that you can walk?
I know dd would love that.

You'd have thought with 2 dogs she'd be happy!

Well they're not bad. I wouldn't say she plays with it now though. (She's 9)

You know what children are like though. There's no fobbing them off if its a real pet they want. I'm resisting that though, despite a sophisticated campaign to wear me down!

DTDs had a dog a couple of years ago. We brought it half price and I certainly wouldn't have paid full price.

Was crap, didn't do what you expect properly.

There was a woman returning a cat in TrU at weekend as it wasn't working properly. They got a new one out and tested it and although it worked I wouldn't have brought it TBH.

Oh right.

Hmmmm. I might just get the cheapy version from one of the shops on our high street.

Fat chance of us getting a real cat. I'm allergic to them and I dont think my dogs would be all that enamoured by one!

dd1 had the furreal cat for christmas last year.
We had to take the 1st one back to the shop,as it seemed to have a mind of it's own and didn't do what it should have, and they replaced it.

Sadly though 'Sammy'the 2nd seems to have developed the same personality

NBheebieGeebies · 29/10/2007 09:23

lol

I think cheapy shop version is the wat forward!
£16.99 and it walks on a lead too.
What more could you want.
