What to buy for a 2 going on 3 year old who wants to carry round a battery or pound coin all day....

So ds2 has his quirks. He has spent the entire week asking for a battery or 'pund coin' which he then wants to carry round with him. He even wants to take them to bed!

Neither is particularly healthy or safe for a 2 year old obviously - so what could replace them.

I have asked him why he likes them:
'Me love them, Mummy. Sit in my hand all nice and safe'

And for those of you who think he sounds adorable, I will give you a shout at 1am. Then at 2:30am. Then at 4am. Then at 5:30am

Oh and when I need to take him to get new shoes. You could do the cringing for me while he tells the assistant to 'Go way, stinky poo lady. Me no LIKE your shoe' and does camp fake hitting in the air.

yes those magent toys - oidz or something you are supposed to throw them in the air and they make a noise if you do it right. They are quite large, a pack of two, very shiny and cold.

still want him...spirited and tells it like it is

He certainly is - I will give you that

I have persuaded him to hold an egg carved out of wood that I have found......

He said it was 'nearly cold'

look for a smooth stone in the garden

FrannyandZooey · 27/10/2007 13:27

put the egg in the freezer

ooh ooh I know, a marble egg? or a big glass marble, too large to swallow?

chocolateshoes · 27/10/2007 13:54

DS (2.4) is exactly the same. Have now given him a couple of wooden piceces from an old draughts set and he is very pleased - although it won't fulfil; the cold criteria.

Why not draw a little face on a pebble. It could be his pet.

He chose a nice shiny amber coloured stone at the weekend. Fits nicely in his hand. Smooth and cold Keeps rubbing it against his face.
Whilst grasping the bloody 'pund coin' in the other hand!!!
