I want to buy dd some pyjamas (pref. on-line) but am really struggling to find any in baby sizes (she's 7 mo.) Does anyone have any ideas? Many thanks!

Boden have some - but they're not cheap - eighteen squid a throw ! www.boden.co.uk

Think I had problems finding any at reasonable prices until dd was 12 months !

musica · 27/09/2002 15:56

Don't know if they do them online, but John Lewis do some, 2 pairs for £11, or Boots do them, and Mothercare. HTH.

leander · 27/09/2002 18:49

Asda do some lovely pj's from 6mths.

jasper · 27/09/2002 18:50

Boden have 10% off and free postage at the mo. If you can't get that off the site and you are interested I'll send you the link/code

CP · 27/09/2002 19:57

Try www.mothercare.co.uk
I just had some lovely ones delivered yesterday and they fit beautifully. £10.00 for 2 pairs + delivery fee.

ionesmum · 27/09/2002 21:38

Thanks ever so much everyone. I'll have a look round!

I'm quite a fan of the Asda ones - 2 pairs ofr £8. Just bought DS some "long" ones this week - he's been in shorties all summer.

Just out of curiosity Ionesmum why are you wanting pjs now? Is there a problem with DD's sleepsuits?

ionesmum · 27/09/2002 22:03

Hi, Bozza. Dd is in a grobag, and I've been following their guidlines as to what to dress her in. She's been in a bodysuit in a towelling (i.e. mid-weight) grobag but I've realised that her arms and chest are getting cold, and I think that's what's been waking her up. Grobag suggest putting a pj top over the bodysuit. I've got some t-shirts that will suffice but would like proper pjs as they tend to be cosier. I think that dd would get too hot in a sleepsuit inside a grobag, her legs and feet always feel warm when I get her out.

I've just ordered som elovely pjs from Mothercare (asda and John Lewis didn't have any on-line) and now I'm off to Boden for pjs for that special occasion!

saw some in gap today - not sure how much but v sweet

Bozza · 27/09/2002 22:26

It all makes sense now Ionesmum. I wasn't really questioning you (OK i was ) but just thought it odd that you were taking her out of a sleep suit into pjs at this time of year. But of course its not odd because thats not what you're doing.

Just being nosey...

ticklebyday · 28/09/2002 13:26

I'm all for cheap and cheerful when it comes to pj's - I've just bought 2 pairs of pj's from Peacocks for £5 (bargain), and they're not bad (honest). Not sure if they do baby one's though.

Jane101 · 28/09/2002 15:12

We've got some nice pajama's from Tesco's (www.tesco.com ?)

ionesmum · 28/09/2002 22:56

It's fine Bozza. I've had such good advice from you that I'd listen if you thought I was doing something silly!

Thanks for the other ideas, too.

Ionesmum, if it's "real" pyjamas you're after ie. trousers and buttoned shirt, Mothercare have lovely ones for babies.

ionesmum · 29/09/2002 21:21

Thank you!

Two pairs for £5 at Primark too - and they certainly have 6-12 month sizes which is probably what you want.

Katherine · 30/09/2002 16:50

I love those traditional pjs (you know button top and bottoms, usually check, often expensive). Wanted some for ages but then when we did finally get some for Christmas found that as DS tended to sleep on his tummy he always woke up with button prints on his belly! Now I always buy the ones from Asda that are a t-shirt style top. Stetchy, comfy and practical with great patterns. Been eyeing up nighties for DD recently but can't help thinking they'll just end up under her pits (mine always did) and she's better in PJs. Gap and Gymboree do some orgeous girly ones.

ionesmum · 30/09/2002 21:36

Thanks again! Katherine, I have memories of being wound up in my nightie like a mummy.

What used to be Kids Stuff and are now GLTC have gorgeous print pjs and they do baby sizes.

The link off mumsnet never works for me but you might be luckier, and get that 10% discount if they're still doing it. They're not cheap but are fantastic quality (or always used to be) and usually last for half a dozen kids (not that you have to have 6 yourself, ionesmum, but you can pass them round!)

janh · 01/10/2002 17:30

oops - it's not there any more, is it? (I don't come in via the home page these days...)

Bozza · 01/10/2002 17:34

GLTC link doesn't work for me either Jan.

What do you lot mean about your nightie USED TO ride up??!!. Mine still does..... (and without intervention from DH ) Although due to cooler weather and DS still not learning to stay under the covers I am back in the pjs just now.

ionesmum · 01/10/2002 21:36

I wish I could claim to only wear perfume in bed but the sad reality is that I now wear dh's t-shirts!!

OP posts:
Bozza · 02/10/2002 17:27

LOL Ionesmum.
But unfortunately perfume does little to keep you warm when you are traipsing off to the cot for the umpteenth time....

Even DH is preparing to acknowledge the onset of middle age (actually he's only 29) and contemplating acquiring some pj bottoms!

Bumblelion · 03/10/2002 17:16

Vertbaudet (french catalogue) (online address www.vertbaudet.com - I think) do them - all sizes, all styles, with feet, without feet.

ticklebyday · 04/10/2002 13:43

Yes, the Vertbaudet pj's are lovely - I was just looking at the catalogue.
