Karime slings - anyone have them/rate them?

I brought a ling which I am just not getting on with. One of the other mums at nursery (who I haven' managed to talk to yet and ask!) has her baby in a karime sling and she seems to manage brilliantly. DD is a big baby (currently tipping the scales at 11.11lbs at 4 weeks!) and I just wondered if this would be a little more supportive than the freedom sling I have at present. Anyone able to help? There is a shop near me which sells them and I am thinking of being a little rash!!

geart but PITA to tie IMO
Swathes of fabric to fold as well.
I have the close baby carrier which has all the benefits of a tie sling but without any drawbacks
truly rate it

I have used and shown mums how to use many many slings of varying kind. I have and used a karime. It was never my favourite because it takes time to wrap and tie it. However, it is certianly one of the most comfortable and supportive slings I have ever used if you tie it right. If you are going to be wearing it for a long walk or something where you don't need to get baby in and out all the time, it is wonderful.

I'm using it to walk back from nursery with DS - its probably about a mile and a half walk there and back. What I have been doing is pushing DD in her pramette, and then making it into the pushchair to push back, putting DD in the sling once I get to nursery. However, I I could find a sling that is really comfy I'd walk there an back with her in sling and push DS in his lighter buggy. I think the shop I could go to has the close carrier too, so i could look at that then too. The stretch one would be good especially if I could get it second hand. But yes Fio you do seem to be popping up on my threads a fair bit!

Am I right in thinking it is basically the same as a hug a bub?

Well I went out this afternoon and all the signs seem to be I should buy this sling! A buggy friendly bus outside the shop I was in, waiting. No waits on second bus and a lovely lady to buy it from! While I was in the shop someone else came in wearing one and she swore by it - so DD is now happily ensconced in one, asleep. First impressions are that I love it!

I have a kari me and find it a bit too stretchy now dd getting bigger (4 months) - I recently bought a soft fleece Calin Bleu wrap and find it very very comfy and supportive for me and dd - also more cosy and stylish colours. highly recommend.

Well DD seems to be a fan! She was getting grizly, so tried putting her in it and all is peaceful! Hopefully NK by 4 months I won't need to use it as much as DS will be able to stand on the ride on step.

Ok, so I had to google that! I'm pleased it worked for you, DD seems to be a bit more settled atm, but that is something to bear in mind if I have the same again. Again, something new you have taught me!
