Do I really need a PhD to operate my Quinny Buzz? Anyone got a footmuff and can give me a little clue how to fit it?

I have purchased a lovely cosy footmuff to keep DS nice and warm. I can see the holes for the 5 points of the harness to go through, no problem there. However as far as I can tell the top and side points on each side are the same strap, so how do I get them through the holes?

The footmuff is lovely but doesn't come with any hints as to how to fit.

Apologies if I am being really really thick, that's definitely a possibility. My dishwasher and washing machine have both conked out on me today as well so maybe it's just me...

Any help hugely appreciated!

The top straps normally unclip from the waist straps. ANy catches visible?

flowerybeanbag · 24/10/2007 18:41

thanks MASI but top straps and waist straps are the same straps, just kind of threaded through the fastener thing, iyswim? [vague]

Anyone else??

You might have to unclip them behind the seat(either at shoulder level like a car seat or waist level) , thread them back to front then through top and side holes of muff and before returning to back and refasten again. However on older Quinny's I've seen there is a small clip linking the shoulder lenght to the waist so you can do away with shoulder part altogether but maybe that wasn't acceptable to UK standards.

[thick]

erm. I can't see where I can unclip them behind? The back is just fabric. There are a couple of straps which seem to unpop right at the bottom, but they just kind of disappear up into the back.

Is there a secret way of accessing the back which I don't know about?

www.buzz.quinny.com/buzz.pdf there are instructions under Information here. When you eventually load them (vv slow) it might help to look at illustratiosn 20 onwards and page 12 which mentions some press studs holding the straps.

flowerybeanbag · 24/10/2007 19:19

thanks LIZS. I had actually found those and it didn't leave me any the wiser I'm afraid

I have got the pushchair bit on the floor upside down and I can't see any way to access the back of the straps.

Can you peel back the cover from the top downwards, mine were hidden underneath, or feel through the shoulder strap slits.

flowerybeanbag · 24/10/2007 19:46

I've now got DH and the dog on the floor playing with it. Can't peel back the cover it's properly fixed to the frame, and tried poking fingers through slits but I can't feel anything useful.

Is it metal studs with the logo/teddy motif embossed on ? If they are like ours (we had a Fashion the predecessor of Buzz) they should unpopper iirc but may take some force.

flowerybeanbag · 24/10/2007 19:56

there are metal stud things, small without any logo or anything, but they really don't seem to be ones you can unpopper, have tried quite hard and they aren't budging.

thanks so much for your help btw

Hi Flowerybeanbag

Does the buzz have the neck supports. If you pull them down there should be some poppers. As it is new you might have to use some force.
Good luck.

LIZS · 24/10/2007 20:05

Think you may need to undo the studs, are they like the ones which attach the hood ?

flowerybeanbag · 24/10/2007 20:06

Bella you are a lifesaver! I fiddled with the neck supports and they are poppered to the straps and underneath if I unpopper them you can unhook the straps.

thanks so much, and thanks everyone else as well.

My pleasure flowerybeanbag. Now I just hope it doesn't rain tomorrow so you can take your new buzz out for a spin .

flowerybeanbag · 24/10/2007 20:14

Lizs the studs are different to the ones for the hood, and they look extremely permanent. thanks though

Bella thanks again, buzz itself is not that new but footmuff is. DS can't wait to go out and keep warm!

Glad you sorted it out , the covers must remove somehow to be cleaned though

flowerybeanbag · 25/10/2007 09:04

Absolutely Lizs, I am intrigued about that. Will save that battle for another day, and hope it doesn't need cleaning anytime soon!

I've just had this thread pointed out to me by LIZS (god bless her) cos I've just got the cosytoes for my buzz and had no clue how to get it fitted on, but this thread has helped me out immensely!

However, I'm wondering now if anyone knows whether or not you can get the whole of the fabric off the seat part so you can wash it. I have the sulphur (bright yellowy-green)....( a bit like poorly snot- bleugh) and it's absolutely acky now, after only a few months. I've read the instruction manual and it says in there to just handwash it. I've tried that but I can't get it clean enough. Doing that just seems to spead the muck about lol. Has anyone ever banged one of these in the washer and had it survive? My dear mamma seems to think that if I did wash it in the washer, it would be ok if I put it straight back on the frame to dry. That way it wont shrink or anything. Can anyone help at all with this 'whopping dilemma'? lol mwah xxx
