Can you still buy cat nets for cots?

A friend is expecting 1st baby fairly soon and is worried about her cat climbing into the cot. You used to be able to get nets that fitted over the cot or pram to keep cats out. Are these still available and, if so, who sells them? Does anyone have any alturnative ideas?

I've seen them in lots of catalogues / brochures, and also in mothercare, I think.

I bought one last year from the internet (there are plenty of places if you search for cat nets), it cost about 12.99.

Just made the search for 'cot cat net'. Hope it helps

Local independent chemists often seem to stock them - I found various sizes from about £2.99 upwards.

Small independent baby shops oten have them. We don't have cats but ours has been quite handy for keeping adventurous toddlers in cots...

Everyone warned us that about this happening with our cat but we have found that she was not at all interesed in being any where near the baby (now dd is older she positivly avoids her like the plague.) Although I did someimes find her sat in dd's playnest when I got up in the morning. We closed the nursery door so the cat couldnt get in there during the day and shut the cat downstairs at night when we left the nursery door open. I have seen them on market stalls too if she needs one.

it's the warmth that the cat is attracted to, I bought a cat net (5 years ago) from Boots or Mothercare.

I got mine from the NCT catalogue. Very well made - the cat has TRIED to crawl across it without success (it was entertaining too). I was advised to get the cot set up quite early before the baby comes home (we put ours up at 32 weeks or thereabouts) so the cat doesn't associate it as a nasty thing connected to the baby but just another piece of furniture.
