Does anyone know of a digital camera suitable for children?

I would like to get dd a camera for Christmas. She loves taking pictures & at the minute I am buying her disposable cameras at about £6 each.

When you count in the cost of developing them etc they can work out very expensive.

I was wondering if any of you ladies knew of a camera with a memory card that isn't too expensive, or even aimed at children??

How old?

Last Christmas, when DD was 4y8m, we got DD a digital camera. Was initally looking at the children's ones but for literally just a few pounds more, in a pre Christmas sale, we got a Canon Powershot digital camera instead. Much better quality and has loads of functions inc video. DD uses it as a point and click camera mainly, with a bit of ideo. I already had a suitable memory card that fit it (the spare one from my camera).

The fisher price one looks good & girly She would like that. She would also be responsible enough to care for a 'real' one like Hula describes.

I read something about canon digital photo frames, does anyone know anything about that?

She has asked for a bike for Xmas as her main gift, so if I could get her a camera & a few stocking fillers that will be that sorted.

She will be 6 on Xmas eve.

Thanks

DD's is a Canon Powershot A420 - 4 mega pixels, zoom lens, video options, uses SD card, has lots of settings you canuse too if they get into all that in more detail late ron. This was a year ago now though, will be better models out by now.

Digital photo frames my parents one (not Canon) for their birthday in the summer. ade sure we had one that had a USB so you can put photos onto a digi stick rather than just a camera memory card (I don't have any way of uploading onto my SD card). And also one tht plugs into the mains and doesn't need a computer for it to run.

Looking at one for DD for Christmas, from PILs. Just need to do some research now into which ones.

Thankyou

I will keep an eye out.

We are going on Saturday to purchase their Xmas gifts, so will ask in Jessops maybe.

Hi I've been looking in to this for my dd who is 4 so has to be a resiliant one - the reviews on amazon don't seem to rate the fisherprice one. There is also a vtech one called kidizoom (argos sell it £60ish - does do video and games) so will def. have to be main present! Does anyone have one of these? any good? To be honest if my dd was a couple of years older I think it take the risk with a cheap standard digital camera.
