Anyone got Galt Educational Playhouses? Or Similar? Is the discount day worth it?

I have just heard that Galt Educational do a discount morning when you can go and buy catalogue returns really cheaply.

Has anyone ever had any sucess at this.

I have a playroom (which is reasonably sized) and I quite fancy a wooden playhouse and thought they looked good (if not v expensive). It looks as if some are L shaped so you could shove them in a corner without taking up the whole room.

Does anyone know if any other companies do them cheaper?

every reception classroom I've ever encountered has this one and they are utterly excellent. It has three sides so you can put it across a corner or right into one - the sides don't have to be at 90 degrees to the front, iirc.

The only thing I would say is that they last forever so a secondhand one will have a lot of wear left in it - or conversely once your kids have grown out of it you'll be able to sell it on

or you could get two of these sort of panels
or this is blardy brilliant if you have the space, and excellent va;ue compared to (eg) the plastic tat in Argos etc

Thanks - that's the sort of thing I'm after.

I don't really want to bring in my Little Tikes Cottage from the garden as it is plastic tat (with algae).

Was thinking of some tasteful panels which I can dismantle and store flat behind the sofa when not in use.

Shame they're so expensive!

am sure a decent chippy would knock you some together - if you can get hold of play with a purpose for under sevens it has some very good advice on making playscreens

but the galt morning certainly sounds worth a bash

May take the journey to Stockport - if I can convince DH its worth taking a morning off work!

Aparently SIL has got a four sided playhouse with post office, petrol pump (and something else) for £120 as opposed to £400.

I only want a couple of panels really - may think about asking a chippie - just need to think of one...

so ugly though
might as well bring in the little tikes house

MrsPuddleduck · 15/10/2007 16:48

Yes - but at least I can tidy it away ... although I don't suppose they'd ever want to!

Do you have the book then MrsBadger. I can see a couple on Ebay for about £2. Is it worth getting anyway?
