RECOMMENDATIONS FOR TOY KITCHEN

We'd like to buy DD2 one for Xmas and would like recommendations for an electronic kitchen that makes cooking sounds (more than a couple - if there is one). We would need one that had all the pots and pans etc. with it (not food). Any thoughts?

WE got the Early Learning one - not the posh wooden one, just the plastic one, but it's been SUCH a good investment. WE bought it 3 years ago now and it still gets played with every day. ELC usually have offers as well - we got all the kitchen utensils and pots free. And the hobs make a sizzling noise too. Highly recommended and won't break the bank.

Shall have a look moomin, thank you. Anyone recommend any others.

this one

IMHO you have to go for the most expensive that you can as the cheaper ones tend to break.

We have a fantastic little tikes one. It would cost at least £80 new. My lovely SIL got it for ds for a fiver at a car boot sale. It's so sturdy yet also light enough to lob upstairs if it's in the way. It doesn't make cooking sounds though. But does have lots of doors to open and close and knobs to turn. Ds (4.5) still plays with it and dd (13months) is getting into it.

tassis, thanks for that but she really would like one that makes noises. Funnily enough we bought her previous one (just 'accidentally' disappeared) from car boot for fiver. Was a disgusting mess by the time she'd finished with it.

another vote for the ELC one. Lasts well and you get free stuff

We got the Tefal one last year that cost about £80 it's in Argos just now the deluxe big one. Waste of money IMHO maybe the DDs were too young for it but they broke the handles off the saucepans and the utensils, a friend came round and jumped on the oven door and it broke so I've had to pull the door off as there were sharp plastic bits, they hardly play with it and it takes up loads of room. Maybe I'll get a smaller one next year or something my friend has one from Tescos and it was £25 and looks good.

this and this look sweet

yes I like the wooden ones, so does DH but he's the one (and I think I agree) that says she'd like the electronic sounds. At the mo we're toying with this or this but unsure if the latter has sounds. Anyone got one of these?

We have one from Tescos. DS1 got it for Christmas last year (he is 2.6). It has spent the summer outside, is still making noise and DS1 (15 months) loves it too - £25 from their Granny.

Just realised differnt budget

I got the ELC for dd's 2nd birthday-great-not a day goes by without it being used. Very sturdy and if you take the four feet off periodically you'll find a lot of things that you thought were lost forever!
