he's too little now (3mo) but will hate if it if i have to use the totally-flat carrycot for another 3 months

he hates lying flat

I put B in seat just before 5 months as she had excellent head control and could sit for few seconds. The second position of the seat seems pretty comfortable and I tip it back if she's asleep. She absolutely loves it now!

you see, that's what i thought - if the seat is tilted back, then surely it's not putting a strain on the neck? i think he'll be ok at 5ishmo as he's v big and pretty strong - already holds his head in line with his body when pulled up

it says 6 months and i was lucky my little one loved being flat in the carrycot for the 6 months so wasn't an issue, but i know plenty of people who have used the seat form 3 months plus, just make sure its lying flat and has planty of appding. i.e the liner form the footmuff. as long as baby isn't sat upright and slouching he will be ok.

does he really not like lying flat? how about a mobile or hanging toy on the hood to keep him occupied or one opf those soft books that unfolds so that it can go around the egde of the carrycot to giver him something to look at? or keep the hood down where possible so he can see the clouds moving. all things to try beofre giving up on the carrycot straight away.

thanks luby

i think it's his reflux that makes it uncomfortable tbh

he does have a mobile thingy hanging from the hood

i sometimes put something under the head end of the carrycot mattress just to tilt him up a tiny bit

i did that occassionally with lucy too, if out for a long time, folded a few muslin cloths up and popped them under the head end of the mattress.

i am sure he will be fine in the seat with it reclined.
