Not sure I've got this in the right topic but,

Anyone got any ideas for good books for a 3-4 year old - want to get ds a few for Xmas and wondered if anyone with slightly older kids had any particular favourites.

The only one I can think of to get is The Tiger Who Came to Tea.

"Little Beaver and the Echo."
"Can?t you sleep, Little Bear??
"Ginger."
Any Jill Murphy book.
The Shirley Hughes "Alfie" series.

Sorry, can't remember all the authors but these were among the favourite story books at the pre-school I worked in.

There is a good book for this age that has a mole with a great big poo on his head and he goes looking for who has done the deed - I know, sounds horrible but it is actually quite good. Anyone help me out with the title?
Might be a good one for your son, Skate.

The Story of the Little Mole Who Knew It Was None of His Business
Werner Holzwarth, Wolf Erlbruch (Illustrator)

Great story. No mention of the actual poo word.

Agree, great sotry, but mst hadd that despite no mention of the poo word, it was this story that started DS's scatological fixation with all things toilet-related!

The Little Boat - lovely rythmic bedtime read.
The Mousehole Cat
Winnie the Witch
My ds still loves Kipper (especially Kipper's Monster - dead scary) and Percy the Park-Keeper.

He loves any Thomas books, which I hate with a passion.

He also loves the "non-fiction" books he's got, such as one on space rockets and one on how things grow.
