Soothers and Teats

Hi, FTM here!

So, I use MAM soothers, bottles and teats and I was wondering how often you should change and get new ones. I know if there's any damage/breakage you should bin immediately and replace but I've lost the sheet saying how often you should change for hygiene/health purposes also my LO uses size 2 teats so what do I do with the size 1s? Bin them?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I got the small 4oz bottles to start with obviously came with size 0 teats. We used them until we needed the bigger bottles which again came with size 0 teats. Then after that I literally think we just used them until we needed the next size up teats, and obviously if they were chewed or damaged we got new ones.
We changed which bottles we used as well so obviously got all new ones then but again kept them until we needed new ones.
Old teats we just binned as didn't know what else to do with them and didn't think they'd be any use to anyone else.
Never ever used dummies/ soothers at all as I hate them and never would use them so can't comment. But I'd guess the same as the teats

By the time your baby goes up a dummy size or teat size it will probably be before the recommended time anyway. I think the whole changing them is not usually because of hygiene but the fact they are sterilised and will become brittle over time.

Ahh okay!

Fair enough! That's good to know then!

I don't like soothers either but my LO got used to them as she was a NICU baby and the hospital gave her them and I can't get by day to day without it sometimes. But she isn't so dependent on it compared to some babies I've seen so hopefully weaning her off of it before she turns 1 will be fine!

Anyway, I digress. Thank you for the insight!
