??

need it for the school run, mainly for dd3, as older two use scooters.

I've got the same one and it's brilliant.

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 12/10/2007 13:34

is the back storage enough to hold two micro scooters? plus anything thing else the older two need me to take home?

I'd say so - and you can always use some of the space in the seating bit too as long as DD doesn't chuck it all out behind her

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 12/10/2007 13:37

ok seems liek a reasonable price.

how heavey is it to ride with? last time i used a trailer i had two children in it, both weighing a lot mroe than dd3 does.

I struggled at first just because I wasn't used to the weight but it's fine now. You can put lots of shopping in it too if you ever have no child to lug about!

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 12/10/2007 13:50

is the front wheel easy to attach? just thinking about when dd3 falls asleep in it.

I've never done mine with a child in because you have to tip it up to fold the bike arm back underneath. I can't imagine it would be a trouble-free procedure...

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 12/10/2007 14:06

just thinking of leaving the arm up and being careful not to steer it into old ladies.

does it fold easily? my bike will be locked to the rails outside, this needs to be stored in my hallway.

Yes, it folds fairly flat as far as I remember. Mine malingers in the garden all the time and never gets indoors.

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 12/10/2007 14:09

fantastic.

well will put a bid in, as on bids they seem to go a lot cheaper than the BIN price.

thank you for your help!

well it has arrived.

the front wheel is far too fiddly to be taking on and off all the time, so need to find a small, light cheap buggy to fit in the back for the occasions when i will need it.

but overall I am impressed by it so far. the real test will be the school run in the morning.

I hope you don't have to go uphill. Very hard work until you get used to the weight. Have a good school run.

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 17/10/2007 19:55

very small hill on the way back. am dreading it lol.

WotzaZombie · 17/10/2007 19:59

Can you leave a little extra eartly and take the breakfast with you to avoid the traffic? I used to use a tag a long bikes and used to shout at dcs to pedal when we were going up hill.

I used one of the things you have bought on a holiday once with 2dds bobbing around in it. Felt like I was in one of those dreams where I am going really really slowly and everyone else was in double quick time.

I am sure it will be fine - lol

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 17/10/2007 20:07

its only a 15min walk, and there is a cycle path as well. dd1+2 will be on their scooters.

OP posts:
WotzaZombie · 17/10/2007 20:14

Well that sounds ideal. I expect they will enjoy it so much.

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 18/10/2007 09:23

I did it!!!

m,uch to my older dd's surpirse, as they have never seen me ride a bike that they can remember. I managed ok on the way there, and also managed to get back up the hill without succumbing to pushing the bike + trailer up there. DD3 loved her trailer, though threw a paddy about her bike helmet. I think she will be ok once my oversized one arrives lol.

the kids in the playground thought i was crazy, and found the trailer fascinating though.

my thighs ache though.

Good on you - you'll have a bum of steel in no time!!

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 18/10/2007 09:27

lol.

i had to buy a new saddle, as i tried out my bike earlier in the week and couldnt sit on the saddle as it was like sitting on a rock. so have a lovely sellegel one (think thats whats it is called).

i am shopping for three locks today so i can lock up the bike and trialer outside during the day and just bring it in at night.

well done, are you ready for the next morning? You can have a rest next week, no school.
