Currently looking to purchase a ford kuga 1.5 petrol.
Slightly worried about the mpg.
Looking for opinions

Mid-high 20s seems to be common. How many miles do you do per year?

Kugahelp · 02/10/2020 17:57

Thank you so much for replying.
I found a kuga forum and yes the replies so far are all 20-30mpg.
I currently have a 1.2 and do 12k, costs around £30 a week in fuel (pre lockdown)

If you continue to do 12k then at 25mpg will cost you around £45 per week. It sounds like your current car is doing 38ish mpg.

We had a Ford Kuga, got rid of it and now have a Quashqai diesel, averaging 44 MPH

ScarMatty · 03/10/2020 11:13

Has you looked at the Sportage?

Highly reliable and good MPG and not a dissimilar size to the Kuba

Kugahelp · 03/10/2020 12:02

Funnily i looked at the sportage first but was told they are very juicy, ended up testing a kuga to find they are probably worse in fuel consumption.
I am now contemplating a focus.
I currently have a fiesta and I’m happy with it but the boot space is just too small.

I get around 45-50 with Sportage

That would be diesel no doubt? I’m guessing OP wants petrol, possibly their type of usage would make a diesel unsuitable.

Not according to his real MPG site. Mid 20s-mid 30s reported.

Kugahelp · 03/10/2020 18:41

I was looking for petrol as it seems better for the environment and because I don’t do regular long journeys.
Now I’m not really bothered if its petrol or diesel.
