A scooter?

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 07/10/2007 14:39

bit young for a scooter? plus i think there is already a smaller one in the shed which the other two have grown out of off. she has a bike, passed down from dd1.

Someone bought dd1 a fairy outfit from ELC for her 2nd birthday... they probably do pirate outfits in the same size?

belgo · 07/10/2007 18:03

notnowbernard - is your name taken from the Shirley Hughes books?

notnowbernard · 07/10/2007 18:07

No, David McKee

Was dd1's favourite story at time of joining MN

belgo · 07/10/2007 18:08

thank you!

hana · 07/10/2007 22:06

I'm going to have the same problem in a few years time wiht my own dd3! Is hard enough thinking of things for dd2 who is 3 years younger than dd1....

I sympathize!
is there a special dvd? Jungle Book is being rereleased in Nov I think, am getting that for dd2 as she loves the cd and knows most of the songs

DumbledoresGirl · 07/10/2007 22:07

Misdee, I am sure you can get a pirate outfit as ds3 had one for his 3rd birthday that fitted a treat and he is a bit small for his age. The ELC do them.

wheelybug · 07/10/2007 22:08

Woolies do a girl pirate costume - I think in small size...

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 07/10/2007 22:08

when i last looked in ELC the smallest pirate outfi they did was age 3-4. she is still in 18-24month clothes.

How about decorating her room along a pirate/paradise island/ seaside theme instead? We're doing a Nemo mural for DD for Xmas instead of presents! You can wrap up the accessories you find for it for her to open on Christmas morning?

Or maybe that's odd and would only go down well in my house

popsycal · 07/10/2007 22:12

DS2 IS having
bob the builder lego (3 for 2 toys in boots)
a couple of books of his own (we have loads but they are reallys ds1s)
some cars (obsessed)
some colouring stuff (obsessed)
roary the racig car (boots again)
and maybe some in the night garden figures

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 07/10/2007 22:13

she wants (as well as dd2, they share a room) a dragons and knights bedroom.

i have two tomboys and one girly girl.

popsycal · 07/10/2007 22:15

oooh ds1 had a kinghts and dragons book from the book people for 2.99

there is a fab book called george and the dragon. george is a mouse

DumbledoresGirl · 07/10/2007 22:16

The ELC pirate costume is very flexible though. The trousers are supposedly cut off so would still fit a shorter child, and the jacket has no sleeves so again would fit a lot of sizes. My ds3 was in 18-24 month clothes when he got his. He still wears it now and he is 4 but can wear 2-3 clothes.

IndulgeMePlease · 07/10/2007 22:19

She sounds fab! I love it, pirates and dragons and knights. How about some things that aren't strictly toys but will be great for her imaginative play, eg a wooden storage chest filled with chocolate coins, play beads etc as a Treasure Chest, or big pieces of stiff card cut into shield shapes with craft items so she can make her own coat of arms?

Ooh, I want to come and play at your house now!

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 07/10/2007 23:14

she is very good fun. makes a good change from all sparkly princess stuff.

she has 'pirate' welly boots (blue with skills and crossbones on, some skulls have bandanas, very cartoony, not freaky) and pirtaes of carribean water bottle. an older boy asked her why she had a boys water bottle, she just went 'yarrrr pirates' at him lol.

M&S had little pirate stuff in today - girls stuff as well as boys....
