My tumble drier has finally packed out after clanking its way over the last 3 weeks but I have had it (White Knight) just over 4 years and I have had no problems with it. Now my upright Dyson vacuum cleaner (still working) having had one too many knock downs now has a broken handle so a bit awkward to use now and I can't use the long handle bit to clean the stairs. The question now is I would like to replace these items but not sure which ones to go for. Which of these items do you have that you swear by in terms of reliability, I don't believe in extended warrranties as I have never (touch wood) had any major problems within the first four years which is usually the time span for these products. I would say my usage of these items are (for a family of six) just over average. Your opinions deeply appreciated in advance. Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestions I will definately look into the Sebo range but I would like to consider the cyclinder as opposed to the upright. I have started to get ds1 (10 yrs) to do the hoovering but he tends to drop the upright cleaner (intentionally) on its back in a strop which is how it got broken the first time. Is there a difference in efficiency between the two?
