make-up - really pale foundation?

here's another q: which brand of makeup does a really good, really pale foundation? I haven't bought any in about 15 years, but (all going to plan) I'm getting married this month and maybe I'll need some.

All the ones they sell in Spain are too dark. Lightest i found was Estee lauder but that was 33euros a bottle, which I think is outrageous. It was "multi-dimensional make-up" though, which is good, because I wouldn't want one that is so infinitessimally thin that it only exists in 2 dimensions. On the other hand, I guess for a multi-dimensional effect I could just use artex.

Anyway I know nothing about this. Why do people wear foundation anyway, will it make a difference and does anyone know a make that does a "quasi-albino" shade?

body shop do a pale concelaer....00 it is imaginatively named
pretty sure they do a foundation to match it

MommyD · 14/10/2004 21:03

I wear the lightest Clinique Superbalanced foundation. Product Number 27. Shade Alabaster.
Works a treat.

Hulababy · 14/10/2004 21:05

I use the One Step Base from Virgin Vie. It's fab I use the palest Alabaster. Costs about £13 a go, £10 for a refill. Nice nd gentle, not too heavy. Lasts for a good while too. And goes on lovely. It's a bit like a moist powder/cream - a mix somehow.

SenoraPostrophe · 14/10/2004 21:05

I think the bodyshop one is the one I bought last time - it's a bit greasy but that may be because it's 15 years old.

00 huh? Most brands here go down to 02.

I'll have a look at that Virgin site (it'll save my sis a trip into town).

SA, I'm going into town tomorrow morning- if you see anything you want just give me a shout and I'll post it to you

Hulababy · 14/10/2004 21:08

Was going to suggest same as tamum. If you can't get it at a decent price - I live in town anyway, and am in and out of town and the big shopping centre all the time. Let me know and I too would be willing to post anything out to you.

SenoraPostrophe · 14/10/2004 21:14

Thanks you two!

Probably safer to get someone who's coming over to get it though - post is sometimes delayed.
