we have mainly wood, some stone and some carpet floors.

bought a rubbish hoover recent(ish)ly and have learned that they are not all much of a muchness, and that half price hoovers are prob crap.

will just get bog standard henry unless anyone knows of a better idea...

(am just off to search messages to see if the answer lurks in archives)

Prufrock do you have to chuck the cloths or can you wash and reuse?

NappiesGalore · 30/09/2007 11:30

i think the blurb says to chuck it afterwards... but rufrock may know if its possible to wash and re-use.

Chuck definately. But when I'm doing the floor every other day I can use the same cloth for everywhere - I turn it over half way through and pick off the dog hairs!

NadineBaggott · 30/09/2007 12:12

NG - yes they are separate heads but its not a hassle

Bouquets · 30/09/2007 18:52

Prufrock you're confusing me now with your technical cleaning talk, would you normally do it every day? (Because once a week would be a treat for my floors!)

Do you think the cloths would survive in the wash or are there, say, cardboard bits attached? Bear in mind our hygiene standards are obviously quite different, I'm quite happy to wash and reuse JCloths LOL.

prufrock · 30/09/2007 20:43

I do tend to do it every day or every other day, if only because of the dog hairs. I only follow with a wet mop once a week (well actually my cleaners wet mop, but YKWIM). The cloths are cheap J-cloth like, so could probably be washed, although again it's the dog hairs that mean i wouldn't as I just don't want my clothes being that hairy.

omg
the robomop is pootering about my kitchen floor as we speak.
love it!

my housekeeper was scathing and skeptical of my reckless gadgetry spending... but is convered now as she started it in here after hoovering (with the miele i picked up from currys on tuesday, which is marvellous btw) and i still picked up loads of dust and fluff and dried mud bits ect...

and we dont even have pets. just 3 little boys.
