Cleaning tiles, any good tips

I'm having a mad cleaning phase to get this place looking much cleaner than it is. No I am not nesting or anything like that, just need to get things clean! But the bottom tiles in the kitchen and bathroom don't often get a good clean so they are looking very dull. Has anyone got any good tips for cleaning tiles that are looking dull and making the place look dull as well.

is it the tiles or the grout that are grubby?
if its the tiles (anything in fact) - I can heartily recommend the e-cloth. It's about a fiver but it'll last for years and will clean ANYTHING!

I have an e-cloth too. They're great for windows. Didn't think of using on tiles but I bet it'd give a nice shiny finish. If tiles are limescaled and dull I'd try something like Viakal (though test first on an inconspicuous area, just in case it's too harsh). That should brighten them up.

If it's the grout, then don't bother trying to whiten it by cleaning it, just get a grout pen from B&Q (the brand is International, I think) and draw over the grout. Marvelous. Really brightens up the wall without being obvious what you've done.

steam cleaners are good on tiles and Fairy Power Spray is quite good too!
