Calling the Maxi Cosi posse/anyone whose LO has gone on car strike

So, having finally got to grips with all the Maxi Cosi secrets, DD (3 months) has decided she hates it. She screams and screams and screams unless we manage to time a journey to the millisecond of a nap-start. Last weekend a 4 hour journey took 8 hours. It's not to do with hunger, or tiredness. I'm wondering if she could be feeling car sick, or uncomfortable, but i think she's still too little to remove the wedge. But actually I think she just hates it - she's a sling baby everywhere but in the car. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Hi Novice

DS was a terror in his car seat until we moved the wedge, from the last thread, and then only lasted another couple of weeks before we had to get rid of the head support.

Now he is happy as larry. He was getting too long and his head was getting squished by the head support, not enough room between the top of the head support and where his bum goes, even without the wedge-thingummy.

Not sure that's any help though, depending on how big your DD is.

Ooh, other thing to mention, sometimes if DS was a bit windy he screamed a LOT in his car seat, v uncomfortable.

I'm sure lots of people will have similar experiences to you though and plenty of sympathy/advice to offer!

Thank you - yes I think we should try her with wedge out. Also thinking of some kind of mirror so she can see where we're going. Must be very boring staring at car upholstery - esp as it is NOT flowery

Well indeed.

We have this which dangles from the handle of the car seat for DS to look at. Also plays music which is handy. You can put it on when you set off, it does go off by itself eventually, so not too horrendous.

Also we have a toy for him to hold, and also this which he can see in and also kick to make stuff happen.

Aha! Bespoke travel toys! A retail opportunity in store. She does have a giant caterpillar but she's ready for something more advanced I think. Thanks very much for the ideas .
