Newborn toiletries

Morning everyone.
Is anyone bothering with toiletries for a newborn (bath time etc) or just water?
I've got nappy cream but that's it.
Thanks

The less chemicals you put on a babies skin the better. A baby shampoo and make sure you have lots of reusable wipes/ cotton pads and you'll be fine.

Olive oil is good for cradle cap though from a semi medicinal point as it softens it and makes it easy to get off.

I have always used Child's farm products on my little boy since he was tiny and I still use it now he's 4, it has always been great for his skin. I used water wipes more when he was a baby but as he has got older I use other brands.

I started with Johnson’s products and moved onto Tesco’s own brand, Fred & Flo think they are called. I find them really good quality and a fraction of the price. Love the smell of a bedtime bath!

Mustela! It's fantastic! I still use their moisturising cream on my legs now and DD is 16!

For newborns I only ever used warm water and a soft flannel. I think the less soap and chemicals you can use on very delicate skin, the better. And they aren't getting muddy or dirty, so they don't really need excessively washing.
When mine got older we used the Green People products. Never rated Child's Farm that much personally.

Thanks everyone. I had though just water but wondered what others with experience have done.

I agree the purer the better, and plain water is good, but as the weeks and months go on, and you live in a hard water area, some sort of general moisturiser and nappy cream can be beneficial.

My dd had a little excema and we were advised by the paediatrician not to bath daily but only once every few days (top and tail carefully the other days) and to use Mustela products.
