To all you moms out there. I’ve got a question about children’s tooth paste

My little girl is 7. She likes strawberry flavored tooth paste and Disney character tooth paste. I also looked at a lot of the adult tooth paste and children’s tooth paste and found that the adult and kids ones contained the same amount of fluoride. I looked at crest for adults and Colgate for adults. Same amount of fluoride. Why should I switch to an adult tooth paste for her when they both contain same amount of fluoride. It also says that adults can use children’s tooth paste too. I’ve looked on the back of every kids tooth paste and says adults and children 2 years plus on them.

As long as it has 1450ppm fluoride then it's fine to use

I think the flavour and packaging are just more suited to kids. As long as the fluoride content is high enough then keep buying it.

The reasons to switch them to adult toothpaste is the adult version tends to be cheaper and you have fewer tubes cluttering up your bathroom. Those are the only benefits I can think of!
My DCs still find the adult paste too minty (6yo DD1 recently tried it again out of curiosity, and immediately screeched that it was burning her), so they have a less minty kids one for now. The tube is labelled for 7+, but once over 2 we all need the same amount of fluoride so I can't see a problem with it as DCs are 6 & 4, and they manage the stronger flavour. Each age group up seems to get a bit mintier, so I am working through the range to get them onto adult ASAP.

Oranurse does a non flavoured fluoride toothpaste. Ds is going through our stockpile of Crest mild mint toothpaste as I can't find it in the shops any more. He also doesn't like strong mint flavour

And all the children’s brand tooth pastes also say adults can use it on the back of the tubes. Did any of you know this? I looked on the back of crest kids and Colgate kids. Also the ones that have Disney characters on them all say adults on the back of the tube.

It’s the fluoride content that matters not the flavour.

It is no problem if she is happy with it stick with it. My DD was using aqua-fresh little teeth 3-5 until she was 10 she hated the taste of the next one up.
She uses a mild adult one with no issues now her teeth survived.

I don’t see why adults can’t use it if children’s tooth paste is also for adults too.

@MummieslittleAngel

How many time do you need people to say it? ConfusedThey CAN use it. But children's toothpaste is more expensive, so it makes more sense to make the switch the other way
