Has anyone bought/tried a Disney Princess Magic Wand Laptop?!

I'm trying to find a fun but vaguely educational laptop type thing for DD1's birthday and found one at:

www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3486229/Trail/C%24cip%3D1500006108.Toys%2Band%2 Bbaby%3EC%24cip%3D1500006201.Interactive%2Band%2Belectronic%2Btoys%3EC%24cip%3D1500006202.Electronic %2Blearning%3EFC%24Age%3D4+to+7+years.4%2Bto%2B7%2Byears.htm

but I wondered whether anyone had actually bought one and, if so, whether they would recommend it for a 5 year old girl or not.

TIA

Oh god ... I'm not going to tell DH that ... he went and bought one yesterday (based on the fact that although nobody had got back to us, it also meant that nobody had said anything bad about it either) and it cost around £34 ... eeeeeeeeeeeeek!

I had a small play around with it and I think DD1's going to like it. It's pink, it's princessy, and although I don't think it's going to last years (ie. think she'll outgrow it within the next year/possibly two), it looks like it will do the job for now.

think the delivery time on the amazon one is 6 weeks anyway!

how old is your dd? can you report back once shes had a play please.

Oh, that's all right then (sort of!). DD1's birthday is tomorrow - hence the sense of panic! She's going to be 5.

I'll bookmark this thread and try to remember to get back to you in the next week or so as to our feedback (also have a DD2 of 3.5 ... expect she'll have an opinion too, knowing her!).

Striking whilst the iron's hot ...

DD1 opened some of her presents this morning but I'd say that this pink laptop certainly created the most excitement and interest. She was straight in there pushing all the buttons and making out that she knew how to use it already!

So ... from a first impressions point of view it's 5/5!

Will try to get back to you once she's played with it for a bit over the weekend etc.

Hi Katz,

Based on my experience with my DD, I can definitely recommend this laptop. She loves it, it was one of her best presents (and not just because it was pink!).

Without having to be taught how to do anything she can do enough to entertain herself already but there's also some other things that she'll be able to do once she's been to school a bit longer so there's some games and stuff for the future on there too.

Hope that helps.
